My first missionary encounter since resigning happened this weekend.
Girlfriend & me were walking out to the car when we saw them comming at us like sharks. Her never-mo immediate response was "Oh god, you handle this.."
The conversation was polite until the Mishie asked "So what do you know about the LDS church?"
Me: "Probably more than you do"
(Served mish'n in Alabama, spent 40+ years in TSCC, HP GL, Military LDS GL, GD Teacher...)
Mishie: "Oh, really? Can we come by some time and share some information with you?"
Me: "No, I'm an apostate and really not interested"
That quickly ended the conversation as they made a fast withdraw.
It wasn't as hard as I had thought to admit I am an apostate...and proud to be one. Quick, but not bad for a first encounter.
Maybe I should have "shared more information" with them...
