So in full disclosure: I am still technically a member. In fact, and I have this on the word of a few current, active members, I am still a member of the Stake High Council even though I am:

a) going through a divorce with my TBM ex wife and

b) have not attended a single church-based activity or meeting in six and a half months.

They must just think I am really busy.

With that said, I grew up in the church in a VERY mormon family that goes back to the beginnings of the church. I went on a mission, was sealed in the temple...the whole shebang.

Yet here I am now, 34 and realizing how much time I wasted on this! The hours and missed opportunities. My mission was fun though.
