Here, here. I researched my own project, planned it myself, had all of the materials donated, put 600+ man hours into the project, and received letters of thanks from our local city police, fire, and city council. 30 years later I still see my project in use. My advisors and scoutmaster encouraged me to do something to benefit the church (painting lines in the parking lot, landscaping,

My sister is only a Captain's wife and he's in the Army Reserve at that. You would think her husband was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff the way she treats those "beneath" her.

We had a guy in our Ward who was almost 7 feet tall and his wife was barely 5 feet tall. One day they were asked to speak and when it was his turn he walked up to the podium and passed out. His wife walked to the microphone and proudly told the Ward that they have hard time with intercourse and were told that they should drink a cup of vegitable oil every morning to help with the lubrication in

Why don't you assume she is trying to convert you. When she shows up at your house you should squirt her with your hose and come back here and tell us about it.

Here's my take: If some piece of shit wants to come into my home and mess with my family or possessions, they will be met with Mr Glock and his friends, the Black Talon triplets. I don't care if you're a misguided youth just trying to find some jewelry to pay for your next high or are intending on inflicting violence upon me, you're going out feet first on a stretcher or in a bag. I once met

Our family resigned in 2004 and moved to a completely new state and city in 2007. We still get visits from the missionaries from time to time asking for "thedrive" family. Seriously, we do. The last one was last summer. The doorbell rang and when I opened the door the missionary asked if I was Brother thedrive. I told him that we had resigned years ago and he said that they were ju

Actually he didn't appear like one of the guys. He answered questions about his economic plan, taxes, missile defense, Iran, and potential Vice-Presidental selections. he spoke frankly about the military, Afghanistan, and Putin. All in all he was succinct and got his message across. Like him or not he'll be the Republican nominee in August and give Obama a run for his money and will most li

I went 4 years, was seminary president one year, and still didn't graduate. At the end of my senior year my appendix ruptured and I missed two weeks of school. My school teachers were cool enough to work with me to help catch up on the work I'd missed but my seminary teacher didn't alow that. Since I had missed two important lesssons I received a failing grade for that semester and was told tha

I was in the same situatuon as you. Child turning 8, big baptism day, family & friends coming from out of town, etc. I went ahead with the charade (it killed me inside to do it) but I figured that it was easier doing the baptism than dealing with the fallout. Fast forward 18 months and I managed to get my spouse to see the truth behind the curtain and we all stopped attending at the same

I'm digitizing family pictures today and am comparing how our family has changed over the years. Of course the kids are taller, my wife and I look old, but for some reason our countenance is still light. We resigned 8 years ago but we are not a shade darker contrary to what earlier prophets claimed would happen to apostates. I'm still white and delightsome. Although my taste in foods has

The masses are questioning. This is from a dear friend, Father is a Bishop. Married in the temple, holds a high calling in the Stake. If they are posting this on Facebook the church's foundation is cracking. "It bothers me a bit that it took someone outside of the Mormon leadership to put a bit a clarity on the situation. I'm disappointed that the leadership says that they don't know w

I feel that if an organization is to remain tax exempt it must do two things: 1) Give 50.1% or more of it's income to true charity or use that income to provide charity to individuals. Soup kitchens, clothing distribution, financial assistance, etc. Tuition assistance to BYU doesn't qualify. Nor does commercial construction on behalf of the organization. It has to be true charity. 2) Prov

Our daughter attends high school with a fair number of LDS kids. They all attend Seminary across the street form the school on the local Ward building and generally hang out together at lunch and at school activities- kind of their own little clique. There is one girl that has some "Gentile" friends of which my daughter is one. I took my daughter to lunch today and she had to share

Yea. Kind of strange if you ask me. But she's not a traditonal massage therapist if you catch my drift. Her husband likes watching her in action with her clients. Don't ask me why or how but some people enjoy watching their spouse doing the nasty with strangers. He happens to be one of them.

As some of you know Draper and south Sandy have had "issues" in the past due to swinging groups and open marraiges. I was talking to my sister this morning about what she sees and knows regarding the subject and it is mindboggling. She lives just below the new Draper temple. In her neighborhood, she can list, by name and house, those couples who are currently involved with or have

Dad and Mom are believers. Mom had her eyes opened, what she learned scared her, and she went back because it's comfortable. They had 8 kids. 6 are TBM to the core, 1 is less active and attending another church, and one (me) has resigned. Mom's side of the family: I have 70+ cousins, most in Utard. I know of 8 that are not active while the rest are slowly working their way toward godhoo

Lots of growth in my area. They just split 3 Wards into 5 and the parking lots are full on Sundays. We have a friend that is the YW Pres and she said that they had 30+ active YW before they split their Ward and now have about 20. She knows of our unbelief and she has her doubts as well but is tied into the social aspect of the church. One thing she did mention was her frustration with the S

A few weeks ago the church read a letter from the pulpit reminding members about the sacred nature of the garments and telling them when and how to wear the magic underwear. I'm not sure they thought about potential ramifications their "reminder" would bring. I work at an indoor sports facility a few times a week refereeing soccer and over the course of a 12 week season come in cont

My brother serves on his Stake High Council. He called me to tell me that he got to meet a real-live General Authority this past week when they reorganized the Stake Presidency. This is how he explained the process. On Tuesday he received an email from the General Authority asking him to send a picture of he and his wife to the GA for review. The GA asked for a color picture, in church clot
