"Saving Souls Is a Cynical Numbers Game The higher ups in the church are obsessed with numbers. They want people baptized, inactive members brought back to the fold, etc. A lot of iffy baptisms happen, just so we can make a soul quota like a bunch of celestial used-car salesmen." O, Raptor Jesus, if thou art the author, make thyself known to thy flock!

Didn't tell no one. I just felt it was no one's business. After all, I never called on our parish priest to say it was sayonara to Catholicism for me. None of the bishopric bothered to visit.

You can bet the Mo-mos are totally ignoring them, pretending they don't exist in their midst.

""Religious morality is dictating the Legislature. That's unconstitutional, and that's why we're fighting this fight," atheist spokesman Dave Muscato said, speaking against the state's ban on gay marriage." Word! And they couldn't have chosen a spokesperson with a better name.

"Love that my girls are old enough to do all the Easter Egg coloring by themselves; Also love doing the coloring with Kool Aid." I don't know about you, but I laughed so hard I'm still having a coughing fit. Life imitates art. In RfM's case, life imitates poetry. Irony can be so much fun. (If you are brand new to the board and are confused by my reference, we typically refer

I, too, a dumbfounded by your wife's response to all the damning evidence. But we shouldn't be surprised, I've heard a few LDS women claim that if the prophet commanded it, they'd be okay with it. Right. If it's any consolation, TBMs don't really mean what they say when it comes to defending the indefensible. In fact, they lie about "winning" arguments with "anti-Mormons".

Multiply your calculations ten fold, and that's how much it costs in poor or developing countries.

The annoyance masks cog dis kicking in. I know I waved off or snorted when I heard "facts" that contradicted, nay disproved, my "faith" and felt brain cells talking to each other and making necessary corrections. If only I had listened to myself back then.

How would he know? Studying Comparative Religion or other similar courses does not cut it, it is objective and lacks the "faith" to know that other churches are true. He has never lived another religion, so he can't say that Mormonism is "the best" (by what standard?) out there? How does he know he won't quickly climb up the ranks of Scientology, or Masonry?

The "Brethren" have advised their sheep to "live within their means" which includes, of course, paying tithes and offerings first.

A TBM posted this on her wall and I commented that women will still have to defer to the priesthood and no program will get approved without the brethren creating and participating in its conception. Ergo, this is no a women's int'l organization but yet another branch of the priesthood. Needless to say, my comment was deleted.

The rudeness and the crudeness of some, not all. While in the home of a TBM host family, their family friend stops by. Instantly detected she was the gossipy kind. After the initial hellos, this woman turns to the lady host and asks, pointing to me "Is he a member?". So wrong on so many levels. And yeah, the incessant Mormon-themes prattle got to me, I shut the door of my rented room

If you ever decide to head on out to central Tokyo I hope you choose Roppongi. The Hills or Midtown is international dining city if you're all sushi'ed out; and then there's everything else in between within 1 kilometer of the intersection. Ganbatte, Ex-Mo!!!!

Boys and girls and apostates, this rally was organized in part by Jeremy Cloward whose hearfelt message in support of LGBT rights was once posted here (by me, with permission of course), spoke at the Let It Stand rally which was very recently held at the State Capital. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKhhtKClNPM#t=954 (his speech starts at 15:45) A former member of the now discredited MBB
