I expect many states to begin making laws outlawing birth control and test cases to get sent to the Supreme Court soon.

The department store window naked mannequin patrol targeting gymns now? Every time the downtown window displays got changed out the enforcers would form up just outside then spend the whole day marching up to the business office and chewing out the store managers. All Day Long....

I was 14 when I heard his songs on the country radio AM station. When I got my first stereo at Radio Shack and a crappy record changer, I bought the 2 Lp set, GORD'S GOLD, and wore it out and "ringed" the album cover. My dad would freak out when "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" played; the guitar solo sounded like a ship breaking up and going under. He was a WW2 vet in the

So far no reports of houses blowing up due to broken propane tank lines filling the homes with gas. Winter of '92 did the same thing, collapsed Portola's only grocery store downtown, and boat sheds on Lake Tahoe. Blocked up everything to CA for a week just before New Year's Eve.

The fundies REALLY built up publicizing Aleister Crowley in the early '70s. Watch the videos, HELLS BELLS and HELLS BELLS 2 by Eric Holmberg, and THEY SOLD THEIR SOULS FOR ROCK 'N ROLL by Pastor Joe Schimmel. They really, really pump up the books by Aleister Crowley, running picture after picture of his titles and saying "Don't Read This! And Don't Read This! And Don't Read This! Whatev

Mormons in suits belly bucking in the downtown crosswalks when I first got here--just deliberately walked right into me. Guys in dark suits would eye me across the street, shift their gaze just off me, then deliberately veer into walking right into me in the crosswalk no matter if I aimed off to their side. They shifted their direction right into me when I tried to walk around them coming on.

The fundies who gave us Prohibition were working on getting a constitutional amendment through Congress in 1926 to outlaw dating and ballroom dancing. Fundy clergy in New York claimed that ballroom dancing caused 80% of out-of-wedlock births in New York, and undercover cops in Chicago waded into crowds at public park concerts with saps and truncheons to club couples dancing pop music of the day

in the very early 2000s SLC on the east bench by the Avenues was inundated with dead eviscerated cats used as Satanic sacrifices and left on people's lawns. After some days, oops, it was due to foxes going to war with their rival suburban cats. A certain tourist trap city in Nevada was said to be infested with Satanists in the the high school. Local news is featuring Mono Lake and the Owens Valley as counterpoints to the GSL. Should be looking at Walker Lake by Hawthorne, Nevada, the other remnant of Lake Lahontan. (Also Pyramind Lake by Nixon, NV)

Utah was the pawnshop of the West for settlers heading to California and Nevada (Comstock Lode to Virginia City from 1862-1878). They had to dump their belongings for pennies on the dollar before they crossed the salt flats and made a run to the Humboldt River. And 60 miles of sand, no water, to meet the Truckee River where it turns to Pyramid Lake. About 10 miles east of Reno on I-80 you ca

Women couldn't sign contracts without their husband's permission until the early '70s. My mother let in a door-to-door encyclopedia salesman in 1970-71 right after my parents did fulblown chapter 7 bankruptcy and the guy sold her an encyclopedia set while my dad was at work. The guy took off downtown and cashed out the promissory note immediately afterwards sticking us with the payments (at t

When the states go after birth control, the Incels are going to be even more frustrated. Women should be ready to run a title search on the estate (parents' assets) and a credit bureau before dating.

He was Lynn Bryson's music attorney about 1970 during the tour of THE SONS OF MOSIAH (an LDS offshoot of Moby Grape) period before Bryson promoted his WINNING THE TESTIMONY WARS lectures about rock music. And the Osmonds (updated version of them) did an album of his rocking patriotic songs! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX7KpaXrq0I

I drove a Fiat Strada, faded orange; I called it my Ravioli Rocket. It was like a pregnant Yugo. Backfiring problem and ate the alternators and voltage regulators about once a year. Engine died when you took it out of gear and your foot off the accelerator.

Utah was the pawnshop of the West during the California/Oregon trail migration. Pioneers coming through had to dump their possessions for the trip across Nevada and over the Sierra Nevada for pennies on the dollar. Utah made out like bandits on furniture and family luxury possessions sold off here. I'd think Utah would have gotten a major mining exploitation hit in the 1860s like Nevada and

I tried to get away from bad influences at home (lonely family opening the door to pushy smiley folks) by putting up prominent displays of art stuff. Heavy metal album cover in frames, classical nudes, books prominently displayed with interesting titles, etc.... Not-Free Thinkers don't like "art." I vote for the women if I don't know who's running. On the state offices, I pick out the 3rd party candidates, preferably starting the the Green party (do they still exist here?), any 3rd party candidate, the more reactionary the better, just to give them a leg up. Whenever I see Super Dell on the ballot, I vote for him. Twice for governor. The most perfect example of a Utah politician I ca

I see young people on bicycles wearing all black, with backpacks, rolling in the dark streets staring into their cell phones, oblivious to traffic. Several close calls with their nose pressed up against their phones. The street screamers are still walking up and down the sidewalks hollering at no one in particular during imaginary arguments at 3AM going towards the U of U.
