I think Dutcher might be able to write a script or consult, but I just don't think he has the power or connections to get the budget to make the blockbuster film we'd want. I wonder if it would get shot down because of politics though. You think someone would have pitched the idea during the Romney campaign, but I could see how a Harry Reid could call up some Hollywood buddies and get the proj

I think that if we could get someone to make a Hollywood Joseph Smith movie it would be the end. Questions would be asked by everyone, baptisms would go way down... Basically the stone would stop rolling. A Brad Pitt Joseph Smith would do 1000x the damage of CESLetter.

After realizing how brainwashed I was to believe that the BoM was true and not apply any critical thinking, I am now going back and applying critical thinking to my entire belief system to discover what passes muster. I am currently trying to process to the Bible. I refuse to believe that an all loving God really commanded the Israelites to murder entire civilizations including innocent men, w

I did this 10 years ago out of practicality. Our mission president made us carry briefcases and we walked everywhere, probably walking 20 miles a day. I carried my triple combination until one day it rained and it got ruined. So from then on I only carried 1 BoM and the tiniest bible possible to save weight.

I had an uncle who had terminal cancer. His non member mom invaded their home and was there for a couple months. It drove my aunt crazy as she basically took over running their home and caring for my uncle, but my aunt didn't want to say no to her since the cancer was terminal. I didn't realize how serious the illness was as I lived in another state, but I had a friend that I wanted to vis

I went to BYUI 2008-2010. I'm sure it was a different experience for me since my wife and I were already married when we were accepted. I missed out on most of the things in the honor code directed at singles, which I'm sure I would have hated if I were single. One thing I thought was weird is that you have to take tests in the testing center and you have to wear Sunday clothes to go there.

I still can't believe that in 30 years I had never put my critical thinking hat at church to see that it was all myth. Damn you child indoctrination. Having had the veil lifted from my eyes for a couple weeks now I'm thinking about Jesus. Should I believe in the Bible? Should I take it as fables and not literally, just forget about the atonement and resurrection? My critical thinking hat i

finally listened to the soundtrack and laughed the whole time. Now I have to see it. To bad it doesn't come around to my town for a whole year. Maybe I'll just have to take a little trip to go see it.

I grew up in a Mormon family in Southern California. My parents taught my siblings and I about how God is our Eternal Father and Jesus is his Son who atoned for our sins. However, things such as Church leadership structure, various rituals, and various other Church details weren’t really emphasized in our home, but more on that later. We went to Church on Sundays and attended cub scouts (and la

About two days to learn the truth. Read CESLetter and most the sources point back to official church sources. For me Joseph Smith "marrying" 30+ women and denying it so fiercely was the smoking gun.

Your writing is indistinguishable from a native speaker. Do you find many opportunities to work on your accent? That seemed to be the hardest part for my Brazilian friends.
