Its been a very long time since I have been here. Pretty much recovered from the nonsense. Glad to see some of the old names still here. Anyway, I have subscribed to this guy since my time here just to keep up a little on what the church was doing. He will never respond to any challenges in comments. You have to stay very vanilla or positive to get your comments posted. Here is the post of his

I would say closet evolutionists. Mormon teachings have been evolving since Joseph Smiths time. But you will never get any of them to admit that.

I will admit, I am one of the fast drivers. I am usually the fastest person on the road. But... I do not tailgate I do not text while driving I am not aggressive I have been driving for 35+ years without an accident (that was my fault). I think I may pay attention more than most. Now, time to go get in rush hour traffic.

You did not give us enough information to know what you are looking for to recommend one place over the other. However, I can tell you what I do know about Las Vegas. I lived in Vegas for 10 years - 1996-2006. I really enjoyed my time there. I did not experience a high amount of crime in the areas I lived. But if you head to downtown or other sketchy areas, you will find it. It is funny to

I have an aunt. She did not win the common sense lottery. She did the same thing 40+ years ago. Went into the convenience store, left her car running, came back out and it was gone. The only difference is... she sat waiting on the curb all day for the person to return it. She just knew that they were only borrowing it.

You make good points. There really isn't a way to know they refused an hour prior. But word does get out about businesses refusing to do business with same sex couples. Boycotts do not work immediately. But I think they do work over time. I may very well be wrong... But if the laws are changing, boycotts are a way of combatting intolerant businesses.

Having a very simple understanding of the implications of the changes, I see it as an easier way to let my spending habits weed out the businesses that support intolerance. For example, the cake business that would not make a cake for same sex weddings. If a business made a policy of discriminating based on religious beliefs that I thought were unfair, I would make a point to personally boycot

I didn't have time to read through all of the responses. But, I have an old boss that moved out here from the East Coast 15 years ago. He has never converted to Mormonism. I asked him what it was like to move here as a non-Mormon. He said it was a little weird at first. But he really enjoys it here and will probably never leave. He has been able to be very successful in his field and gets along f

Sounds like a ploy to get inactives to go to a reactivation activity. As a teenager, I attended a few functions that were 'secret' to create a buzz about them. None of them ever turned out to be anything more than another meeting. I am guessing you missed absolutely nothing.

It is not blaming the victim by saying he should have given up his seat when he was asked. If he was legally obligated to give up his seat, what length does the airline have to go to to get him to give up the seat? Keep saying please until he gives in? Say we are not leaving until Mr Dr here gets off the plane? The passenger has some responsibility here. If I have police telling me to get off

United is at fault for demanding 4 paying customers to give up their seats for United employees. I am sure this is a common practice that happens every day in the airline industry. I do not see this as that big of a deal. If I were there, I would have taken the money. But no one took them up on the offer. The problem happened when someone was picked at random to give up his seat and he did no

I know that must be the wrong address. If it was the right one, he would have responded to your letter and answered all of your concerns. The only conclusion I can come to is that it must be the address ;)

I was at a TBM couple's house recently. They are close friends that accept my lack of beliefs while also holding out hope of my return some day. I don't remember the context, but the woman said something about keeping my name in the temple (hoping people praying for me would bring my testimony back). I immediately shot back telling her that I keep writing to Santa Claus for her.

I take breaks now and then. I typically come here a couple times a day. But I have taken 2-3 month breaks from it as well. I have been coming here for about 10 years now.

How can you compare it to Dumb and Dumber? Maybe the Dumb and Dumber sequels, but the original is a classic. I grew up with CHiPs. It was mildly entertaining. But, the new movie looks awful.

I have a TBM wife as well. There are times that I consider going just so she is not the "second class" woman that sits alone. She feels it and has told me. But every time that I even consider it in my mind, I get sick to my stomach. The anxiety hits and I cannot do it.
