I recommend trying the triumvirate of booz, cigars, & mary jane all together in one sitting. One of the best "spiritual experiences" of my life. LOL

Yes, others on this thread said to get your address & phone number changed, I recommend that, too, to make the break cleaner. It was about 15 years ago I cut ties. My sister told me she wasn't comfortable with me being around her children, and my parents told me they didn't want to have anything to do with me unless I came back to the fold. I put out a couple of olive branches after that,

A lot of people, particularly men, have noticed many of these problems and started a movement in reaction -- they call the movement MGTOW (men going their own way). There's a lot of MGTOW content out there, but this is a quite excellent intro video to it regarding many of the issues you mentioned: http://www.manbook.biz/2018/11/15/gm0060-best-ever-example-of-how-much-women-hate-men-mgtow/ a

In a lot of catholic traditions, you have to be someone who has accomplished several miracles to be referred to as a "saint." And by some accounts of late: https://radiofreemormon.org/2018/07/radio-free-mormon-037-general-conference-death-march/ there seems to be a whole lot of talk about a lack of miracles in the Mormon church.

Hi all, It's been a very long while since I posted to the board here, but I thought some might be interest in this. I went down to my local comic book shop yesterday to pick up my weekly comics and the owner there told me to check out the Spider-man comic book. Apparently, the artist of the comic (an exmormon) put a CES Letter logo into one of the frames of the comic book & it caused su

I also had a lot of trouble socially, too: with self-esteem, connecting with people and having actually meaningful conversations with “diverse” people, and having conversations without competing with others. Anyway, I found the following YouTube channel and the video lessons helped me a lot: https://www.youtube.com/user/YourCharismaCoach/videos The lessons were not a quick fix, and can

I saw this and it seemed like a good thing to post here, especially since it’s Halloween. Some of you may be familiar with the site feministmormonhousewives.org -- it’s, a lot, a bunch of liberal Mormons trying to cope with inconsistencies, etc. of their faith -- whereas this site it’s a lot more to do with recovery itself. Anyway, their associated podcast has done a series this month on th

Hi my fellow exmos, As some of you know, after many a conference, the foundation has been quite slow to get the conference audio posted, and so I’ll often pick up the audio off of the live stream and post them so folks won’t have to wait months for it if they missed it. This may be the last year I do this, I’ve got an old computer and related to this had technical difficulties galore, so

Hi all, I posted on the forum here a good while back about me hearing about a marriage consummation room in one of the temples to ensure that marriages where consummated. I said that I would get back and speak with the individual I had spoken with that told me about this (he’s a non-member who many years ago had gotten a tour of a temple before it officially opened and said that he had seen

I'm in Pomona. There are groups closer to the coast, but I'd certainly be up for a get together somewhere here in the IE if others might be too.

Thanks Southern ExMo, I'm the one who posted the original thread about a temple room for consummation. See: http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?2,774039 The man who told me is a rather old gentleman that I trust a very great deal too, and I do not believe at all that he lied to me about his account. I was a bit taken aback when he told me about it too, and in my shock I really didn't ask for

This gentleman I spoke with was quite old, and looking up temple information, the Los Angeles temple opened over 50 years ago in 1956. Hopefully, someone who knows about this particular temple or was around then might confirm the existence of this room or this practice.

I was out at a restaurant the other day with some nevermos and one of them said that they had been to the pre-dedication, non-LDS walk-through of the Los Angeles temple and said that they remember on the tour being shown “Consummation Rooms” in which after a couple had been married that they go and have intercourse for the first time, and that in the room was a one sided mirror on the other s

You're little exmormon.org promo is a rip off of the literature of The Church of the SubGenius. For more information see http://www.subgenius.com/ Instant answers to everything! I've actually found SubGenius to be quite theraputic as an exmo, it's helped me to better laugh at the obsurdity of the LDS church, and the obsurdity of a lot of other things, too.

When I saw your subject line, you might've meant the Gangnam Style parody, "Mitt Romney Style": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTCRwi71_ns I suppose in a certain respect, that is exactly what you mean.

Thanks everyone! You're welcome. I'm very glad to do it. I've kind of fallen out of activity in the exmormon community, but you all were there when I left and needed people to turn to, and it's good to do something to give back. Plus it's nice just to hear the conference talks every year, hear the stories, the rants, and the voices of others who have woken up, too. I know it's all turning out

Since the foundation usually seems to take quite a while to get the conference audio and video posted to their site and elsewhere --- in some years past (not last year though because I had other stuff going on and couldn't record it), I’ve recorded a bunch of the conference audio as it streamed and posted it for people to download and listen to on their own. OT = Old Testament You sounded very honest and kind with them. Religion of all kinds is dying right now. They’re just concerned and trying to stop the necrosis from spreading, but it's inevitable.

I'm the one who used to post them. I'm fine, but was out of town a bunch the weekend of the conference and didn't get to record it all while it streamed. I know a lot of people appreciate it, too. I'll particularly make a point to be sure to do it next year, unless I actually get around to traveling to SL for it or something. Hopefully the foundation will get to posting it all to their site

Wow. I never thought about it that way. Yeah, conference is like watching people get tortured. In a certain way, it might even be considered sadistic. lol. On another front, many of them also seem to enjoy the torture. The knife blades are so sharp as they pierce the skin, the guilt and shame being driven so effortlessly deep. Really, conference is almost like a mormon version of BDSM. And

Wow. Awesome. What a great story. “They were almost coming to Church out of fear and guilt.” Yeah, that is a pretty intense core thing driving it all -- the cult of Mormonism and most of society in general. But as we are seeing, the fear and guilt are falling away as never before. “I'm sure that some day we'll find another way to worship in a more meaningful way.” Praise the s

Yep, no Jesus mentioned here. Forgive yourself of own sins, and realize that there is no negative, only the negative you create.
