Kinda reminds me of calling someone an "Anti-Nephi-Lehi" - somehow in the end it means good guy. Same thing with Anti-Mormon, still the good guys.

I grabbed a couple of Bold Rock ciders with a friend after work. I stopped on the way home and got a bottle of Highland Park Valkyrie, so now I'm about to sip on that.

I don't know about the divorce part - but when I worked on campus I was friends with a girl. I knew she had a boyfriend (he attended UVU - UVSC at the time). I didn't find her particularly attractive so it was easy to be friends with her and not act creepy. I was driving her home from work one day and asked her how things were with her boyfriend. She told me that they had actually gotten married

I went to the chapel in April 2011 (or whenever spring conference was that year) to watch a session. Haven't been since. 2 years ago November I sent an official resignation letter.

Prop 8: - Which I think was really the last mainstream anti-gay stand. Widows - been seeing that all over FaceBook Missionary age - especially for the sisters And probably just a complete lack of anything you could even try to spin as a revelation.

Never had any contact with them, but I've heard of them before. Their doctrine isn't particularly different from the many other north american christian sects. If you're dead-set on going to church, it seems like they might be one of the more fun groups to hang out with - other than probably taking themselves too seriously and actually believing in a magic man in the sky.

I would say the same thing about Huge Nibley. When I was younger and had been brought up with the idea that anything church leaders said was true by default I thought this guy was great. Now that I've learned a healthy dose of skepticism I see that he was one of the biggest clowns ever. It's hard to believe anyone could honestly believe things like the Native Americans becoming great horsemen in

Seems to (maybe I missed a little since I wasn't paying much attention) that his talk was basically: 1. Joe was a prophet if the Book of Mormon is true. 2. The Book of Mormon is true because I refuse to accept any of the contradictory evidence. I really just shake my head and ask myself - does anyone with a fully functioning brain really buy that???

No, but when I was at BYU a few of the relief society presidents did.

Dwyane Wade is another well known athlete that has talked about giving tithes to his church (and has made other significant donations) - but yeah, I don't recall any MORmONS claiming him. Maybe it's Brigham Young's fault for that. Anyway, it does seem that MORmONS think they have a monopoly on things like tithing. Based on the standard elder's quorum answers we used to get - it seems like most

I'm sure activity rates in Utah county, and even Salt Lake County, are higher than in the rest of the country and world - but I'd still be interested in knowing how many of that 85% are actually attending services.

Can't go wrong with that. Last Friday I ate lunch with a friend from work. He mentioned he really wanted a milkshake (they didn't have them at the pizza place we were at). On the way home I stopped at the McDonald's across from my light rail stop and got the Shamrock Chocolate shake. If you like mint chocolate chip ice cream like do, you'll love it.

I'm have an assortment of beer myself. I may mix up a cocktail or 2 later, but I have a 5K race in the morning so I may have to refrain. If anyone is interested, Nat Geo (National Geographic Channel) is airing "America Before Columbus." Apparently they didn't use the BoM as an archeological guide though - I haven't seen any horses or steel yet. They have talked at length about the c
