Tell her that a biology professor said the following... “Evolution by natural selection is the most important scientific discovery of modern times (I am stoically unapologetic about the lack of equivocation in that statement). The evidences for it are staggeringly abundant, detailed, and scientifically undeniable.” Btw, that’s from BYU biology professor, Steven Peck. ;) Quote is fr

She’s great in her assessment of Mormonism, but should apply that same level of critical thinking to Christianity and the Bible. Maybe that will be her next series. :D

I believe in the Book of Mormon. I have a copy at home somewhere. So it totally exists. But here’s my direct rebuttal to Ted Callister: https://weirdalma.bandcamp.com/track/ode-to-prophet-joe

Let’s not forget that Mark Hoffman was a fucking murderer. Sure, he pointed out the lack of discernment among the leadership, but really, that’s the easiest Mormon thing to debunk.

If you’re there, try to catch the Bro. Jake/Weird Alma show (Mahonri Moriancumer: The Musical) at about 1 pm today in rooms 300A-C. It’s tight, like unto a dish.

Packham and Criddle and others haven’t had positive things to say about the Sheets book and theory. And I don’t think cureloms and cumoms were ever specifically mentioned by Marco Polo.

Here’s a link with the pictures of the plates and swords and angels, and some analysis of why it’s bullshit. Fun stuff! Amazing how the same scam can still fool thousands, even with modern skepticism. http://religiondocbox.com/Latter_Day_Saints/73167209-Indisputable-march-29-2018-revision.html

It was the Book of Lehi, but also compiled by Mormon. Part of the same set of plates. And just conveniently happened to have the same essential story covered by Nephi. :D

They paid $30 million for the printer’s manuscript of the BoM. The 116 pages would be a much bigger deal... recovered scripture, in essence. A huge part of the history of the church and its origin. And potentially hugely damaging to it. BUT, not necessarily. I think the church would love to be able to reveal them, no matter how poorly written or full of baloney they (likely) are. It would be ga

I recall this phenomenon being reported several times a few years ago at various places around the world, and some people speculating about end of the world stuff. But apparently it’s a thing that happens often at random places where a flock might end up in a storm cloud or something. And it was a matter of modern media reporting on it, and others around the world following suit, that made it s

Not sure what you consider to be a “golden convert,” but I’ve been told I was one. Answered the doorbell, baptized a couple months later. There’s more to it than that, but that’s the essential story. I was active the first year, then completely inactive for about five years, then very active again for about twenty years before resigning in 2016.
