“Just as I felt with the Carter family in today's service. It must certainly be comforting to feel such assurance about a pleasant afterlife for the departed and the thought that you will all be reunited one day.“ It is. There is part of me that looks forward to it. I also look forward to that rest you spoke of.

Dear SC, my trust is in the Lord Jesus Christ. Scripture says that we don’t know for what ought we pray, but that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us to the Father with groanings too deep for words. I’m lifting you and your son up in prayer. May He comfort you and help your son in his time if need.

Thank you for mentioning "nervous energy." I was so anxious when my dad died. It was like the news of his death spread so quickly and the phone just started ringing, ringing, and ringing. It was overwhelming. I was still trying to process the fact that he died and people were wanting to know funeral arrangements, it seemed while his body was still warm. My elderly mom was still alive an

Tyson, Sounds like you are grieving appropriately. Sometimes I think it is better to spend time with people who have gone through or are going through the same thing. If you think you have clinical depression, I would seek out a professional. Otherwise, I think grief is something that is a natural reaction to the death of a loved one, and takes some time to work through. My dad died four year

I would think you could go to a reliable Christian apologetics website to find supporting scripture, but I think you would also find scripture supporting Jesus as God incarnate, or a triune God, which sounds like what you may be trying to disprove. As best I can recall, CARM.org once had a simple chart of the attributes of Father, son, and Holy Spirit. That is if your trying to find something qui

What are U.S. missionaries doing now? Any tracting, etc.? I haven’t seen any in a long time, but I’m probably at work. Heck, all I feel like I do is work.

I think about it too. Maybe it is my age. Sometimes I feel like the days are passing by quickly and I’m here on this earth just waiting for my last day.

Just a heads up, this is written from a nevermo evangelical perspective. I’ll speak as one who was in the teaching pool for a long time. If I could write to my former missionaries, I’d write... Dear LDS missionary, It was never your fault that I could not join the LDS church. It wasn’t a lack of faith on your part or those secret sins all of us struggle with. You gave it your very best

When I worked with inpatients and they were in their last hours of life with no family present, I would get my meds, etc. given to my other patients. Then, I’d take a computer on wheels into the dying patient’s room to do my charting so I’m could be there with them as their life slipped away. I had a patient back in Springtime whose wife died in the hospital from COVID. As her condition

I think if I had ever been LDS and decided to resign, I would just resign without offering a reason. Ask me tomorrow and I might say something different. :p

The whole "I killed Osama bin Laden" was weird to me. It just didn't seem like the norm to me to reveal that information. Then, it's like painting a target on your own back.

"Porn shoulders." You crack me up! Maybe that is what the missionary thought when he saw the "porn knees" of the picture's of women in long tasteful shorts on our women's ministry bulletin board in the Baptist church, and commented on it. Some 18 +/- years have passed and I still think, "I can't believe this is happening." - Pictures of church women with their

I've tried to reconcile in my mind at times the argument of "What about those who have never heard the gospel?" and Romans 1 where it says "So they are without excuse." I've never been able to find biblical scripture that says there are those who will never hear the gospel. I know it says that men from every tongue and nation heard the gospel at Pentecost. Maybe there being so

My daughter is a non-LDS missionary to a South American country and has served a short while in Argentina. She liked Argentina too.

Never been a member, but I'd fall under gnostic theism with a capital "G," so I guess that would make me off the chart maybe as theist. IDK.
