Your aunt has her facts straight. That is all true. I am really not sure what point you are trying to argue with her, but the most misunderstood topic is the separation of church and state. Your aunt is right that is was established to keep a national church from being formed. People have the misconception that religion cannot be taught at school. That is totally false. I teach World Histor

I think that a lot of the time, it depends on where you live. If you live in an affluent area, then the leaders have to be affluent too. If you live in a low income area, then you will find seminary teachers, or church workers. However, I know a family that their Dad was a Stake President, and every son he had in the same stake were made Bishops after he was released. It is all about name, and

I have 4 children. They are 14, 11, 9, and 7. The last three are girls. I am in the process of trying to get my wife to see what I see about the church. She is disturbed about the Joseph Smith Polygamy thing as well as no evidence for the Book of Mormon. So I am making progress. But, this is my problem. I do not want my kids to go through those stupid awkward worthiness interviews. I thin

After all my days in the LDS Church, I never knew that the word Exaltation was not in the Bible or Book of Mormon! It is a word that the LDS church made up to describe the difference between Everlasting or Eternal Life (The Free Gift to All because of the Atonement)and Exaltation (Living in the Celestial Kingdom). I remember as a missionary saying that yes I am saved, everyone is saved and wil

The more I read and think, the more I realize how much fear has played a role in keeping me active, but no more! 1.) Follow the gospel or you can't be with you loved ones.\ 2.) Sexual sins just under murder for seriousness of sin. 3.) The last days are upon us...repent. 4.) Pay your tithing or you will not get to go to the temple. 5.) You cannot get to the celestial kingdom without knowing

TRUST ME! All that was said. I just thought the Dad had a lot of nerve assuming I was "tending" the flock.

I am LDS, but have not gone to church in over a year. I am a teacher and do not disclose my religion to any students who ask. But the following happened. I sent an email home to a father about a girl in my class who was being quite obnoxious! (My brother was her Bishop). That was the only way she knew I was a Mormon. Her father emailed back and said that his daughter was having a hard time w
