We got a HP laserjet 5550 printer at work, depending on add ons, they run about $1,000. The color toners run about $100-150 each. Pretty expensive, but does a great job. Seems to take a lot of maintenance to keep running. If you don't have much to print, a few copies a week, check with Fedex/Kinkos to see what they charge. Anything larger, they have large color plotters.

My in-laws once lived in a little wide spot on the road in NW Washington state called Beaver, about 10 miles from the Twilight town of Forks. In fact, there were two areas, one called New Beaver and the other Old Beaver, that made for lots of vulgar jokes. An old story goes, the local leaders decided to have a beauty contest one year, but sad to say no one won.

Is there a chance that Christ was gay? Didn't get married, almost a requirment of a Jew before they turn 20. Hung around with 12 other guys. Didn't have a problem preaching his gospel all around the country until just before his crucifixion. Was he crucified for his beliefs and preaching, or was he killed because of homosexual activity? Gay bashing?

As an outsider, how can this allowance not be included in the person's tithing settlement? If all TBMs pay 10% on their gross income, then the allowance should be include. Otherwise all TBMs should be able to deduct all their living expense, as listed in the MP handbook. This could mean the difference between survival and going into debt for the church when they pay their tithing. Just

I feel all my prayers are answered, maybe not the way I want, but just they way things are suppose to be. I prayed that'd I win the power ball last week. The answer came back, no, you'd get too excited and die of a heart attack on the spot.

Back in grade school, one of my teachers said the world was 4,500,000,000 years old. Who was I to argue the point. So now, 50 years later, it must be 4,500,000,050 years old.

Back in the late 60's in a small town in Wyoming (95%+ LDS) a girl friend asked me to buy her some beer for a girl's night out. They came by my place later that evening, as I was walking out with 2 cases of beer, me and 6 girls ran smack dap into a couple of missionaries. Everyone was too stunned to say anything. One of the missies finally said, "We see you are busy, we'll be back at a la

Hmmm, with a little google searching I came up with this. Very interesting, I wondered what the Nauvoo Expositor published that caused JS to fly off the handle and destroy the presses. http://www.cephasministry.com/lds_nauvoo_expositor_june_7_1844.html It's late now, I'll read it with a clear mind tomorrow.

What I accepted in my mind was the OT was the Jewish storys about a mean and revengful god, but the NT was the story of Christ's life and his peaceful and loving way of life. Christianity is the teachings of Christ, not the mean and hateful guy. Maybe it means something to the Jews, but how it applys to our life now is unfounded.

Catholics use the terms "your faith", "what you believe". These are things that are beat into you at a young age, you never came to these beliefs using your own intuition and intelligence. Just another case of brain washing.

When a person is raised in a hard core religion, be it LDS, Catholic, Baptist, etc., it all comes down to brain washing. You are taught that you have faith and a testimony. This and that is what you believe. You have never made those determinations, they were pounded into your head as a youngster, you never had a chance to question without being beaten down. Now you question those things you

My education into the gay life, at first I was shocked, but my friend was still a friend. She wasn't any different today as she was yesterday. What I learned and realized was that a persons sexuality is small part of the total. Not everyone you know are considered a sexual partner. A gay friend is just another friend that brings a some different views of life. If all your friends were all

My brother suggested that a good way to get the commercialization out of Christmas was to make Christmas a movable feast just like Easter. Christmas could be the first Sunday after the first full moon after the winter solstis. If I figured it right, in 2012 Christmas would be on 12/30, in 2013 it would be 12/22, 2014 it would be 1/11/15!, in 2015 it would be 12/27. Let 12/25 be a national ho

You might try the Gospel of Thomas. 3 Jesus said, "If your leaders say to you, 'Look, the (Father's) kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is within you and it is outside you. When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are c

My folks had black hair (hispanic), my brothers had black hair or very dark brown. All with brown eyes. My dad worked for the Post Office. I started out blond and green eyes, as I got older I had brown hair at HS graduation, now it's close to black with grey creeping in. When we'd be down town shopping, people would ask who was my dad, I'd tell them the mailman. Mom would get embarrassed and

Why is it that all major religions thinks it's necessary that life has to be nothing but suffering and sacrafic. If you enjoy yourself or have any fun, then you are made to feel you are sinning. This is from a Catholic, LDS hasn't cornered the market on guilt.

Isn't one of the questions asked when you are interviewed for a TR, etc., is "Are you honest in your dealings with your fellow man?"? And how does shunning work with Article of Faith 1:11 "We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
