Blazing Saddles was the greatest, the camp fire scene, the toll gate, then the line "I hired you people to get a little track laid, not to jump around like a bunch of Kansas City @#$%&! ". Mel Brooks was sick, but is funny, so funny!

9:30 at night, loud banging on the door! WTF Grab your phone and call 911, report someone is trying to break into your home. Let the police take care of situation. Did you hear about that young mother who had just lost her husband to cancer about Christmas time? She defended her baby and herself from a couple of men trying to get into her house with deadly results.

Is it true that girls don't get a middle name when they are born, but wait until they marry and their husbands give them a "secret" name so the husband can call them through the vail at death? Did I get my religions mixed up?

A family friend's son in gay and out and works as a home decorator. He's comfortable with his situation. A number of years ago he got pretty sick, some thought it was HIV. Anyway, he got better and I ran into him at a family function. He said things were pretty rough there for a few years but when he got through, he said he wasn't afraid of dying. He figured out that God didn't want hi

Can you imagine if China did sell their US bonds? The country buying might make China float their currency to market rates. Chinese goods would go through the roof, jobs and manufacturing would flee China and go to some other country, maybe even come back to USA. We'd have to be the good guys and give them aide by borrowing from that other country. The cycle needs to continue.

Since many on this forum live or have lived in Utah, what is the straight scoope on Huntsman. He seems to be okay, but doesn't have any traction when compared to Newt, Mitt etc. One of the reasons I'd vote for him is that he was ambassador to China, so he knows the language and can talk to the people that loan us all that money so we can buy all their goods.

The revengeful, dominating God is from the old testment, which in from Judeism. The kind forgiving God is the new testment which teaches the wisdom of Jesus. The OT was words to keep the Jews whipped into shape, Christ came to teach that that wasn't the way, but loving God and loving man was the way to salvation. The Bible is the work of people that had their own axe to grind and heavily influe

Received this from my brother, probably the best friend I've ever had: ANDY ROONEY DIED LAST WEEK AT AGE 92. THANKS ANDY If you will take the time to read these. I promise you'll come away with an enlightened perspective. The subjects covered affect us all on a daily basis: They're written by Andy Rooney, a man who has the gift of saying so much with so few words. Enjoy....... I'v

It isn't in God's plan.... all his work is a continuing effort. As is in death, we don't know the time nor the hour.

I believe "another guy" hit the nail on the head for me about not wanting to vote for Mitt. 99.9% of the Mormon people are good and honest, as least all the one's I've met. It's the top leadership from the President/Prophet, the 12 and 70, etc. that I don't trust. I'm an outsider but know just enough that I don't know how much control they have over Mitt or Huntsman and the result

There are about 6 million LDS and 39 million blacks in the US. Who would do better in an election a Mormon or a Black?

Something else to consider, ask questions about things you know about LDS. "Dad I was looking up JS's family in Familysearch.org and you know that he was married a bunch of times and to some girls as young as 14? Isn't that weird?" " I sure wish they could find some proof that the American indians are descendents of the Jews." Maybe your folks will start looking at you a

my2cents and onlyme Please post you links to the lists. The missionaries are in my neighborhood and have missed us twice. They left their "I'm a normal mormon' card in the door. I expect them back until contact is made. I'd be fun to ask them their thoughts on some of the topics I've seen on this board... Which version of the 1st vision do you believe? Do you believe you can becom

Back in the late 60's when I was first esposed to LDS, the family I became friends with discussed LDS and Catholic religion. The topic of no alcohol came up and I was told that the LDS did celebrate the sacrament meeting with bread and wine back in the time of BY, but some people took advantage of the situation and drank too much. So the powers to be cut it out and changed to grape juice. Bein

This topic makes me very sad. I once dated a TBM and she was trained to go the Mormon path to being a faithful wife and child bearer. I remember the conversations we had about having a career that was rewarding and enjoyable. She balked. Long story, we went our separate ways. She was smart, talented and a wonderful person. I hope she did something with her life that benefited the world an

This is somewhat similar to Palm Sunday services in the Catholic Church. It's done to remember Christ's entry into the Holy City. The palms are blessed and handed out in a different building, then the congregations sing "Hossana, Hossana, Hossana in the highest" in a procession into the church.

Like any major change of life, look at the big picture. The whole world is open to you. Find out who you are. You've always been defined as your parent's child, your husband's wife, your children's mother. Now find the inner, beautiful you, the person that has so much talent, so much to share, so much to love. Be proud of yourself, list your sucesses, list the lessons you've learned from you

Having worked in the business field and familiar with some types of bar code systems, my guess is the card only contains some basic identification information.... maybe just a number. When the card is scanned the information is sent to the computer room where the id is called up and all your information is available. That information is what your various groups record on you. This could be y

Many years ago I worked in a small town in Wyoming that was 95%+ LDS. I dated LDS girls and had fun. However the one that I was most taken with was TBM as were her family. Her Dad died in a farm accident a few years before and she had 5 other sisters and 2 brothers. They treated me as part of the family, I went to several LDS sacrament meetings and we talked alot about being LDS and being Ca

I'm sure it's been asked on this forum, but how old are you in the CK especially if you have 500 generations of family around you? Everyone in their prime or everyone at their correct age beginning 6000 years ago?

Got a couple of questions on the LDS sealing of people so they can be together for eternity. If parents are sealed and follow all the rules and regs of the LDS church, but one of their kids don't follow the same path and doesn't make it to the CK, won't that make the parents very unhappy because the family isn't intact? Along the same lines, if one of the parents doesn't make it to the CK,
