I've been an exmo & posting on here almost since the beginning. My wife & I are regular lurkers but can't post at home due to some jerk on our network that spams this website. We are in the process of moving soon to a city 140 miles away. We are very excited to start our lives together in a new place. In our present location I'm very well known & being an exmo my new nevermo wif

We live a bit to the north but would love to be a part of some Tri-Cities get togethers. I'm an exmo of 20 years & wife is a nevermo but since we're living around my family we are still too involved in it. We are presently traveling so I can post but at at home we get blocked due to some spammer on our IP. So we may be a bit slow in responding at times.

This was the first time that I had met these three women. I found the mother & her partner quite charming & we hit it off quite well. She retold the BoM story after I told them my de-conversion to Mo'ism story. I told them I had been out of the corporation for over 20 years now. The mother then remembered that she had a VCR copy of "Orgasimo" & asked if I had seen it.

It must have not been too difficult for me. I got home in late October from a European mission & was married to a girl I didn't know before my mission by February 1st! Boy, that was stupid! It lasted thirteen years & then I was out of the marriage & church. Borrowing from South Park... Dumb, dumb, dumb. Leaving church & marriage...smart! I do remember how boring I thought

Gosh Ron if I didn't live so far away I'd be there! But I live in Washington state so I couldn't make it by morning...even on my motorcycle! Since I'm an ex-mo & work in agriculture we'd have lots to chat about while we drank the bean. Cheers!

Try some Black Boss Porter. It's from Poland. It's incredibly smooth & flavorful. Now that you have electricity in Canada I'll bet you can find it! LOL

I have a very TBM business associate who is constantly trying to motivate me to come back to the fold. A few weeks age he was telling me how spritual he felt after doing a bunch of sessions in the temple over the preceeding Saturday. He was shocked & stunned when I told him I thought the temple sessions were the most boring thing in the world & that I could barely endure one when I was

I really appreciate my never-mo wife attending these family functions with me. Opps, shoud have said " I'd be remiss..." This was the ward I lived in for many years & held numerous callings including the bishopric. It was kind of mean for me as we were standing singing "We thank thee of God for the Prophet" when I mentioned to my wife the fact that "Prophet&qu

I'm presently into very hoppy IPA's. Here in the Pacific NW we really like our hops. A year ago I couldn't stand beer at all then my wife got me to try some local microbrews & suddenly I'm hooked. Anyone else ever tried a Black Boss porter from Poland? It's the best porter ever. That being said, tonight I'm enjoying a local Merlot.

After being out of the church for 20 years & being a high profile member when I left it was an interesting experience on Saturday. I forced some of the stand-offish members to talk to me & many said "Oh I didn't recogize you". I call BS! I even slapped the Stake Pres on the back & called him by his first name. Even in a small town of 6,000 people it's amazing how littl

When I left on my mission I was earning a nice salary of around $25,000. That was a decent amount for a 19 year old kid in 1975! I figured I lost $50,000 just missing the two years of pay. I also lost a bunch of seniority which took years to gain back after my mission. I was a pilot btw, & aviation took a bit of a hiring nose dive right after that. Senority meant everything. I don

I came from a prominent pioneer family in Utah. My ancestors came mostly from Scandinavia. At the time of my call, my mothers uncle at the time had close connections with the top 15. I always found it interesting that I got sent to Denmark. I to this day I think phone calls were made. I wasn't very happy about it because I at the time had no interest in learning a foreign language. I

November 23, 1991. Yes, I did remember to celebrate my 20 years free last fall! I was 35 years old when I left. In 15 more years I can celebrate another red letter date being a Exmo longer than a Mo.

What's prophetic about it? Maybe Uchtdorf meant profound? Language issue maybe between German & English? My nevermo wife & I are waiting to see if my TBM family takes the talk to heart or just continues in thier regular judgmmental ways!

My never-mo wife wife just commented on how many posters on the board seem to be from our area...Yakima, Tri-Cites, Spokane etc. Since we live in the most central part of Eastern WA, near Moses Lake' would there be any interest in a get together this spring? We would be glad to host. There is a nice park with a covered bbg area near our house that would work well for such an event. Well

Welcome aboard! I'm a former LEO & feel that the 18 years I spent dealing with society at such a personal level was one of the factors that led me out of TSSC. Between that & a mission to Denmark my eyes were opened! Keep on postin' while on patrol! Some times it can be pretty damned boring.

It seems that whatever boards I subscribe to there is always someone trying to make a grand departure...as if the said board is now beneath them. It's your right to leave but why the big exit scene...just don't open up the webpage & really leave!

I loved your story & can relate to it. When I was struggling with my decision whether or not to stay in the church in 1991, I decided a visit to the SLC temple was just what I needed. I too felt that meditation & prayer might help me untangle my confused mind. I happened to be traveling through SLC on business trip so I ran out & purchased a white shirt, dress slacks, & a t

I too went to a 25 year class reunion in Montana a few years back where LDS types were a bit rare. When one TBM friend of mine asked why I was drinking a beer I answered "Oh you must be referring to my former mormonism. I moved on years ago." She seemed stunned. I was voted "the most changed" by the way. My former classmates seemed to accept & enjoy the new me.
