I'm thinking that we need to make a list of stuff that people can ask the mormons online that will make them automatically take you off their list or some other questions that will get funny responses from missionaries & let people post the conversations. It might even go viral having people show the funny responses they get if they get any. Otherwise, its a simple way of putting relevant

Maybe they'll have keywords that automatically redirect you to a Senior missionary who can write pages of nonsense about how much they love and know the church is true.

Jonathan, You are not alone. I've been though a similar situation in my life. I decided to back out of a mission at the last minute myself and ended up working in a restaurant and finding a room for rent in downtown SLC It was one of the scariest, and most difficult times in my life because I had to leave home with next to nothing, just clothing and a small radio, but it was also some of th

or do you think they'll let the missionaries have normal profile pictures and post pix from their past?

It's going to be like World War I when the Generals kept forcing the soldiers to get out of the trenches and run towards the enemy as they're getting cut down by machine gun fire. It won't take long for them to become gun shy if they aren't already. Fighting this battle will help many of them realize that the leaders are asking them to run with their muzzle loading guns with bayonets again

Mormonism might be right for you. It's definitely got a lot of nice people and it only costs 10% of your money. You get to follow a lot of rules and be told what to do. It's nice because if anyone questions your beliefs you'll have a circle of friends to support you that also feels like they belong to the Only true church. That will give you support and confidence. If you make $2000 per mo

I was just thinking how its strange that when someone turns 18 they are considered adults, yet Boyd and the other leaders are so arrogant that they think its better to control and keep treating people like children. It's like the Mormon church and the Mormon parents force their good Mormon children to be restricted just when most other people are learning to live on their own.

It looks like the Mormon church is going for broke. They changed the age of the missionaries to send more out and now they are changing the approach. They're burning through all their fuel very quickly. Talk about sending lambs to the slaughter. It would be different if the Mormon church was based on truth and they didn't have such a coverup of actual Mormon history. Too bad they don't hav

I think hastening is one of those awkward Mormon words that they use to make themselves seem intelligent. It's an appropriate word since its the word child of Hustling and Hassling..typical TBM parents :)

You say you "know" the church is true...how? Oh, a spiritual witness, a feeling from God.... Then wouldn't it be more honest to say that you have a Feeling the church is true?

Hi Ex-CultMember I like how you mentioned that you were a missionary in Utah and it helped you to hear ex-mormons say stuff to you and even though it didn't seem like it at the time, it affected you. I could have been one of those ex-mormons haha I've become different over the years. I come from a big Mormon family. When I first left I assumed I was giving them up and I would be shunned. Af

I've read some m vs c books and they're pretty good. You might find them to be skewed towards the Christian perspective, which may be a good or bad thing for you. One thing to keep in mind us that Mormonism and Christianity are completely different because they worship completely different Gods. Flesh God vs Spirit God for starters. Mormons change the Garden of Eden story... The Mormon

Read the Double Bind book on this website. It will help you realize the manipulative tricks they use. Here's a little bit of it in a nutshell: "Now that you admit that the _________(church, book of Mormon etc) is true, that makes _______ (temple, missionary requirement etc) true...." They manipulate you and put you in a Double Bind because once you cave in to believing anyt

Wasn't tithing in the Bible originally from crops? Isn't that why it was called first fruits? Now its been turned into cold hard cash. What else does the church accept? Maybe Bitcoin. ***edit, I forgot that they're happy to take anything they can including family estates etc... :) They definitely prefer a cash only transaction, yet the Mormon leaders aren't financially accountable.

She was acting as if Ezra T Benson's feelings and life was more important than Steve's. Her argument starts out from a flawed position. Mormon Supremacy on display for all to see.

The Mormon leaders are in a bind because none of them are very talented, forward thinking, or even have much of a risky character to deviate from the status quo. I'm not talking about stupid risky behaviors like boyd k packers, I mean something that would point to them as being visionaries and leaders. They are simpletons, although they have higher education and degrees, none of them are very

I like how you are making your sister have to deal with stuff :) I have a narcissistic TBM brother that I like to mess with. He's still able to pretend and make up stories, but the noose of true information has been tightening around his neck. I think that all mormons would end up hanging themselves if they keep the dialogue going and don't run away. We as exmormons need to treat them

The mall puts all Mormons into cog dis and makes them confused when they are confronted with it and the question of what would Jesus do. It's not even that its a mall, its just that most mormons I talk to realize the church doesn't really do that much good with all the money they rake in from tithing and their many for profit business ventures. To top it off they are asked to do janitor dut

Yet they had nothing to back up their accusations about your posts. It's pathetic. Their doctrines are based on sand and they are left out here trying to defend their beloved church with no support from their prophet and general authorities. On top of that they are rude to you personally when they don't even have to be. They are welcome to come here & discuss stuff. They just need to be

I was wondering if they have a 1-800- emergency number to the Mormon apologists at the Maxwell Institute for people like Brenda Obviously History Boy is a random Mormon hero apologist riding in on his Book of Mormon horse to save the day. He could be the new guy there at mawell house. Right now he's in the Twilight Zone grasping for Mormon truths and finding out that he doesn't have the any

From my perspective this could be even worse, Allen J Stout and Brigham Young could have concocted the whole Blood Atonement thing together. Allen J Stout could have been influential on Brigham Young since Allen might have killed the guy in nauvoo before working with BY. So far, from the evidence I've seen it looks like Allen J Stout was probably a cold blooded danite killer that had a tough e

This is in reference to these posts from the other thread: Posted by: Brenda ( ) Date: June 12, 2013 09:25PM Re: Brenda, I am related to Ezra T. Benson, one of Brigham Young's apostles ... The topic of this disrespectful thread is MY grandfather, not Mr. Benson's grandfather. And on THAT, I DO know what I'm talking about. I will not stand quietly by and hear him and others in my fami
