I've heard that he's revised his date to Oct.21,2011. Wonder what his excuse will be on the 22nd?

Putting on my tinfoil hat here.... The beards are only worn by those in leadership when they are engaged in polygamy, as a tribute to Brigham Young. No extra wives means no extra facial hair. Off topic. I work in a corporate environment where the managers and wanna-be managers wear suits and ties. I wear golf shirts and jeans. We have a saying that "Wearing jeans indicates that you

haha. So they found a board that they perceive to be angry, and this causes them to go back to church? Really? Too funny.

Unless the afterlife consists of suffering from amnesia, any kind of eternity eventually becomes hell. Oh wow, I get to see all my loved ones, and hang out and shoot the shit....and...now...I'm....bored......... In order to progress, you must have time. If time doesn't exist, progress is impossible. Given an infinite amount of time, at some point there will be nothing left for you to lea

Of course through the priesthood power, anything is possible including moving mountains and raising the dead. However, you should never do that. If they're dead, obviously god wanted them dead and if you use your power to raise them you are going against god's intentions. You're just supposed to have faith that you have this great power, that is so powerful you must never use it. It really

Mad World - Tears for Fears or Gary Jules All around me are familiar faces worn out places, worn out faces Bright and early for the daily races Going nowhere, going nowhere Their tears are filling up their glasses No expression, no expression Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow No tomorrow, no tomorrow And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying

So you know how parents are all embarrassed at church and don't want to talk about or acknowledge that one of their children have fallen away? Well, they get to have that feeling for the rest of eternity while they wonder where they went wrong and failed you as a parent. Isn't it marvelous?

D&C 132 It is polygamy. Verse 7 also seems to say that it must be sealed by Joseph Smith or it's not valid. So I guess no mormons are actually married.

What I've seen done on a few occasions is that the corpse is dressed in the temple clothes, but the hat, apron, sash etc are kept in the lower half of the casket with the split lid closed. After the viewing is over, someone will go up and pull up the sash, and put their hat on and then close the casket.

We are the 1/3 that rebelled and were cast out. This earth life is our last chance to get back onboard with the plan. All the righteous ones in heaven don't have to come here, they get to observe us and learn about good and evil by peeping on our actions.

What "trouble" can you get from a bishop? He has no power or authority over you, and the only thing he could do is ask you not to come to their meetings.

I remember almost all of my dreams, and from this I can say that they don't mean anything. I can usually piece together the "why" of a dream by thinking about what I did during the day. What I watched, what I was thinking about, concerned with etc... Your brain is just trying to sift through all the inputs and toss the irrelevant out, store the important stuff.

What? Brittanica actually says an atheist "believes" there is no God and must offer evidence? Seriously? Ok. Here's my evidence as I say this out loud... God, if you exist, strike me with lightning......... Nothing. There's my evidence. Now prove that my evidence is not evidence.

It may be healthier for you to just remain blissfully ignorant of many of the mormon things. Unless Mrs.Piper said specifically that she wants you to understand mormonism better, I'd leave it be. Why do I say this? My wife is not religious at all. I prefer that. I like being able to talk to her without her attaching mormonism to the topics. It is greatly helping in my recovery. When

Brainwashing is one of those evil thought terminating words that automatically put mormons on the defensive. I've found it's not a good launching point for any dialog with them. It's difficult to talk to them without calling a spade a spade, but you have to play around the words to keep the conversation going.

I'm not an expert, so sorry if this sounds offensive, but these actions sound like those of someone who: 1) suffers from mental instability 2) was abused 3) is currently in an abusive relationship Hope you get resolution on this.

Well, the 144,000 would be polygamous and probably have 50-72 virgin wives each...uh...don't want to do the math. But if you're a woman and a virgin, look out!

Awesome. Thanks Kimball. This doesn't say anything about who achieves the highest levels of the celestial kingdom. On another forum, a poster was trying to tell me that only 144000 would inherit the highest kingdom...become gods etc..

So I've been out of the church for over a decade, so it's possible that my mind has actually forgotten this. I always thought that the 144000 talked about in revelations was only a belief held by the JWs. Are there any mormon doctrines on this?
