I don't understand the vitriol that's being directed towards Mrs Nelson. Allegations of lesbianism (which, if true, are not our business), suggestions that she's running the corporation, etc. She's drunk the Mormon Kool aid and appears to enjoy having reached the ultimate success for a Mormon woman, namely, bring married to the top man. Mormon woman can have no success or status in our own rig

I couldn't do Catholic because of the children. Of course, the individual priests are responsible, but the church as an institution knew what was going on and moved those pedophiles from Parish to Parish to protect the church rather than protecting the children.

I never really liked going to the temple, but I never had any of these horrible experiences either. I had a back injury that didn't allow me to sit for long periods of time, and I went to the temple the same day every week, so the workers got to know me. They always made sure when patrons were filing into the endowment room that I was seated in the end seat on the last row so that I could stand u

On the subject of evaporative coolers, I keep a pet chicken in a shaded run in the backyard. I keep some fresh water in a large, shallow plastic pan when the temperature soars and very often I see her standing in it. Evaporative cooling at its most basic. When the temp exceeds 110, I bring her in the house, which she hates, but she spends most of the toasty summer months outside enjoying air con

My only issue with going to a Mormon professional of any sort is that 10% of what I pay them will end up in the coffers in Salt Lake. Which means that, even indirectly, I'm still supporting them

It's like that old story about boiling a frog - supposedly, if a frog is put in boiling water, it will jump right out, but if it is placed in cold water gradually heated, it will stay in the pot until it is boiled to death. That's what TSCC is doing to the faithful, starting out slowly

My favorite is: if temple ordinances are required for exaltation, why aren't they mentioned in any of your scriptures?

Let's see. 3 wards in a building x 3 meeting services per ward - they'd need a billboard to list them all. **Spellcheck spelled "wards" as "warts". Somehow, I find that screamingly funny this morning.

I was very honored last weekend to be invited to a bar mitzvah service of a friend's child. There were about a hundred and fifty people in the sanctuary, and as I glanced around I didn't see a single cell phone being used. The congregation was reverent, quiet, no screaming children, and really involved and immersed in what was going on. Perhaps if Mormon services were interesting, people wouldn't
