I like your comment about Fin seeing the light. I saw the movie last night and I thought it was very good.

So true about everything being an opportunity for them. Last two gifts I received from a sibling were a book about a Mormon that is in the public eye and a religious news reporter that wrote a book about his child has a condition similar to what I have. I try hard to be supportive of my sibling for all the crap other siblings have piled on, but the pushy religion stuff is annoying. They are the w

I agree with Cheryl, too. Years ago I made a comment about a TBM family member and something that was bothering me. Someone on the board basically ripped me a new one and told me it was none of my business. I guess this person presumed I was butting in when I hadn't done anything other than vent on the board. I don't remember who it was, nor do I remember exactly what my issue was, but a response

So sorry that you are having such a rough time. Also sorry to hear about your cat. Diabetes in cats is very treatable. What did your vet have to say about the diabetes? I had a cat with it and all we had to do was feed her different food. You matter and you're a great writer. I'm sure you've been very helpful to people here and that they enjoy reading your posts.

I despise the fact that the bishop or some authority has to get up at the end of the funeral and destroy the entire "spirit" of a funeral. I think that even bothers TBMs to some degree. A wonderful tribute that would have been perfect if they didn't have to try and get in their own two cents.

I have a glowlight and I like it a lot. I also have an old Nook. I wanted to replace the old Nook with a Samsung tablet for Nook My husband doesn't always listen very well and bought me a glowlight using his B&N discount and a coupon. I like the Glowlight much more than the old Nook. The light makes it much easier to read. If you're a Barnes and Noble member, I think that you'll get your Barn

I wonder how many actual Jazz players have been Mormon. Off the top of my head I can think of: Thurl Bailey - He converted after his first stint with the Jazz. Was out of the NBA for a few years and played for the Jazz his last year. Tom Chambers - I don't know if he still is. Perhaps in name only. He was arrested for DUI in 2013 and said he'd had a few drinks at a PAC 12 game.

My TBM BYU fan relatives have never stopped trash talking the Utes. Sometimes I get into it with them but only when they start it. It is not the Ute fans that act like they are entitled.

Spwdone, So sorry to hear about your Lyme disease. I'm sure it is difficult for you. I have a very good friend whose spouse had it but they didn't know about it for years. It was passed on to my friend and all but one of their children. My friend is much worse off than his spouse. As far as I know their children are not showing symptoms. I was amazed that my friend still had a sense of humor when

I've seen a number of people from Utah on Dancing With The Stars and So You Think You Can Dance. Some are definitely Mormon and some of the costumes show plenty of skin. Even though there is a huge focus on modesty, it doesn't seem to be a concern for these highly trained and very talented Mormon dancers. There are some that are Mormon that are now inactive. Whitney Carson is a young pro dancer a

Over the past couple years some new church buildings in the Fort Worth to Denton, TX area have been built. An educated guess would point to the growth coming from people relocating here for jobs. Although there is growth here, the places they are coming from should be shrinking. The suburbs are getting further and further out with more new homes going up. I do know that they are now down 1 pe

So sad that it's more important to be across the ocean "serving" than to go home and be with your family at a time like this. The fact that they contemplated not telling her is beyond horrible. It will probably keep her from dealing with her true feelings but she will eventually have to face them. TSCC is NOT family oriented.

Some YBU fans are already coveting Coach Whittingham. Wouldn't that be a huge step down for Whit? I don't see that happening.

I'm sorry you are going through so many tough things rights now. There comes a point where it gets to many of us and things keep piling up to the point that we've had enough. No matter the odds of being caught in a terrorist attack or something else, it is still scary to think about and it affects people differently. From what you said, taking a break from some things should help you reduce s

My heart stopped twice when I was very young during some risky surgery. No NDE. Wouldn't I remember something like that? I also quit breathing during a more recent surgery. No NDE. Maybe I wasn't dead enough? Probably not dead at all. I think I started back up on my own. I didn't even know about this until my husband mentioned it to me a week ago. I hate to make fun of or discount anyone else

I have a question. My mother died young leaving my father with a bunch of kids. He got married and sealed to the second wife. Why is it that his kids are not sealed to both wives or is that just assumed? Wife #2 never had any biological children of her own, but she was the only mother the younger kids knew and she was with the rest for much longer than they were with our own mother. An aunt w

I have never been to an LDS Inc. church in the state I live in now. We are talking over 20 years. I have been to some in Utah in that timeframe, but it was only for funerals.

It took me a long time to resign but I finally did it because of the treatment of certain groups and because I was tired of them bothering me no matter how many times I told them to go away, both kindly and not so kindly. They irritated my no-mo husband to no end. It went on for 20 years and caused my mormon family to do some pretty awful things to try and get me back in the fold. They have been
