I saw a post on facebook that was trying to justify the policy as a "membership standard". They compared it to what happened in France and how that was hate and the policy is a standard. That seems like a very desperate attempt to make the new policy seem okay. They thre the Starbucks cup debate in there, too. It was bizarre. My not so TBM friend thinks the policy is very wrong. My

I agree with that. I have mormon relatives that are nutty enough that I think they would kill if asked. They might even imagine such a command in their heads.

When I was in my mid-twenties my bishop was starting to encourage me to take out my endowments. I was in no hurry. I had no desire to wear garments. They looked uncomfortable and I didn't want another layer of clothing to make me feel too warm. I can be very curious but it wasn't enough to make me want to go and I didn't know what actually went on there. I would have bolted at the washing and

I'm sorry for the loss of your sister, Cheryl. People do such horrible things in the name of TSCC. I've been on the receiving end of some of that from family members. I feel bad that they did this to your sister. Last thing a person needs when they are sick is someone pushing an unwanted religion on them. Glad your sister had you and her husband.

That was a good read. Thanks. I also clicked on the Abby Huntsman video. I laughed when they asked her what goes on in the temple and she said nothing crazy. From what I've heard, what they do there does sound crazy and what they wear is even crazier. :-)

She did get married to a person that she met on her mission. I think he is from Scotland. They got married in Hawaii. I think she may have had a baby. I thought I saw something on this board about it. It seemed that it was kept fairly quiet.

My nephew came to that state I live in to install alarm systems for Vivent. He was pretty much on call all the time so he couldn't really do anything while he was here. He got paid by the install. I heard a few rumblings that they owed him for some expenses. It seems like the housing set up was strange. I think they put a bunch of them in an apartment. I'm not sure if they paid rent or not. They

I am very sorry. You have my sympathy. My kitties are my children. It's always hard to lose one no matter how young or old they are.

Congratulations! I am happy for you. I sent my resignation letter in August. They were starting to pester me again. They said something terrible about GLBT people and that pushed me enough to resign. I did not want to be part of the hate. Up to that point I was planning on resigning but would not take the time to do it. I am so glad I finally did.

It wouldn't surprise me if they eventually require members to completely cut off communication with any apostate family members.

So they had to eat ghost pepper sauce? Ghost Pepper is quite potent in small amounts. I think that's abusive. Nobody should be challenged or bullied into doing that. I guess it's a guy thing.

Five siblings all 100% in. So far, all of their children are, also. One likes to be a little more wild, but as far as I know she still goes when she can't find an excuse not to. She still posts stupid church stuff on facebook. I thought another niece might find her way out until they brainwashed her at EFY. It is kind of depressing sometimes that I am the only one. I supposed that makes me th

I need to go to the craft store and somehow get motivated to do some housework. My back is bothering me so it's going to be harder to find the motivation to do either. There's a Starbucks near the craft store so that might be all the motivation I need.

Sorry to hear of your terrible mission experience. It's good of you to encourage others in a similar situation to get counseling.

I saw a story a while back about an autistic man that is doing a part time service mission for TSCC. I think he was doing something with genealogy or perhaps organzing things. I wish I could remember. I just know that what he was doing what pretty impressive. I remember thinking as I read it that he shoud be getting paid to do what he was doing. Instead, they pay him nothing and they make it soun

You are so right! They also do not allow women in the circle, not even the woman that gave birth to the baby.

Take off those gloves and go for it. :-) I'm tired of them trying to explain away the horrible things they do as "good intentions". Then there is the association of evil when it comes to the WoW. Anyone that drinks a drop will most certainly become an alcoholic. Then there's coffee... I saw a facebook post the other day showing children dressed in very creative and well done Hall

I don't like the idea of unisex bathrooms. I have no problem with a trans gender using their choice of bathroom. I like my privacy and I don't want to deal with the men leaving the toilet seat up and sometimes missing the mark. I doubt men want to see some of the gross things women do either. What happens with the urinals? Do they hide them behind a wall and some unsuspecting child accidental

I've had the same problem over the years. I was nice, not nice, even less nice, mean, etc. and they never stopped. Thought the most recent time when my husband really let them have it would stop it for a while. Nope. I got a call where they told me I was assigned to feed the missionaries (bs to that), and a visiting teacher left a message on my phone. That was the last straw. I finally sent in my

Sunday I went to a club meeting/party. It was a lot of fun. Great people that have never had anything to do with TSCC. Sometimes they get to hear my rants about it. They had no idea that Mormons do so many weird things and that they can't leave inactives or ex-mormons alone.

What kind of call blocker do you have? How many numbers will it block? I'd like to know more. I think I saw something on Amazon at one time, but wasn't sure if it would work for me. It's been a while and I really don't remember.

I've stopped picking up the phone if I don't recognize the number. Most of the calls I get are from scammers and I would love to get rid of my landline. If my cell phone received a better signal in the house so that I could participate in conference calls at work, I would get rid of the landline. I personally think that a person should be able to block numbers on their landline without having to
