Garments and tithing are usually the first things to go when people stop believing in the church. They are both a form of control the church uses on its members. If you can control people down to their underwear, well you have them.

Mr. Gordon is primarily responsible for the personal and general attacks on mormonthink editors. Watching this video, one gets the sense that Mr. Gordon will say whatever he needs to in order to "win". Until recently, FAIR had no direct response to the actual content at MT. At present, most of their content-response (a small portion compared with their character attacks) takes MT quo

In October, MT had well over 2M hits and well over 50,000 individual visitors. Will's article will get some decent exposure there. I believe we are discussing a more detailed article with Will for inclusion as a main article on MMM in the near future. We'll keep you and him posted. Will is now also listed among the Personal Stories of MT Contributors. He's a member of record, though hasn't at

Welcome, I can guarantee you that there are several others in your stake and probably in your ward that no longer believe but still attend church for a variety of reasons. I have had people email me at MormonThink that I sat on the same pew with at church and they have no idea I didn't believe either.

A few articles in Sunstone are real gems with good stuff but most these days are boring, way out there and many are very supportive of the church. The cartoons can be funny. It all depends on the issue you get. The one on the BofM historicity was very good and well-balanced for example. I wish they would do more of those. I still subscribe to it but every issue I threaten to make it my l

I loved it. I was one of the best talks I have ever heard. Kudos to Grant. Can't wait to share it with others when it's on youtube.

Had some experiences: - Denied the issues, once the facts were verified he acknowledged that they were true but offerred no explanation, bore testimony. - Looked at me with a 'deer in the headlights' look and would not acknowledge anything and just asked me questions about my actions and then bore his testimony. My advice: I would know some issues well, supported by church resources an

Someone at one of the exmo conferences made them. I have one - very cool. I'm not sure who it was. Email the MT site and someone on there will know. I tried making some pass-along-cards for MT but never got around to finishing them. When I do, I will save the word file, along with the avery paper stock needed to make the cards yourself and post it on MT. If anyone else has already done t

We work to address the concerns that members have, even those at FAIR. However, we also have lives to attend to, and cannot continually compete with an organization that receives much more support both from a large pool of members and indirectly from organizations it defends. Given that most of FAIR's rebuttal is an ad hominem attack and also that it took national media attention of MT and many

here's an essay on whether or not the LDS church is a cult - this was posted yesterday on MT and was written by a current member of the church, one of the new, current contributors to MormonThink: http://www.mormonthink.com/glossary/cult.htm

Instructions: http://www.mormonthink.com/tithing.htm#advice Heard rumor that the church discourages this - seems to be confirmed as the link is dead. However, the email address is there so you can email them. I did it for many years and it's still an active program. In fact, my account is still set up with the church but haven't used it in some years.

It is a special feeling. Why they have never done the same to the Tanners or Richard Packham's most excellent site is a mystery. Maybe they don't want people to know how many others there are out there that corroborate the evidence about the church's history.
