I should know, as you say. Remember that Hinckley and Monson (then counselors in ETB's First Presidency), in violation of stated Church rules of succession for transferring power to a new president, used a signature machine version of ETB's signature to secretly strip my grandfather of his authority to run the LDS Corporation (doing so without my grandfather being present, of course), secretl

Let's examine the processes by which professional scientists rationally and reliably predict the likelihood of occurence of certain physical phenomena, vs. the ridiculous and repudiated guesses of Mormonism's bogus prophet, Joseph Smith. The first (the scientists) employ tools of evidence, observation, testing, falsification and replication in making their predictive announcements. Th

It was not far from the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, across the Puget Sound, near the town of Gig Harbor. Just for the record.

What he's really saying is that ex-Mormons fill him with inner doubt, which then actually makes his purported lament a self-pep talk subconsciously designed to push down the closeted insecurities he has about his own faith. Classic denial mode.

. . . but then fires back after getting "reamed" by her critics. Christina Aguilera got herself in a Super-sized mess Sunday when she flubbed the lyrics of the national anthem during opening ceremonies at the Super Bowl. "Flip, fetch and oh my heck! Whaddya expect?," true-believing Mormons might ask. After all, all signs point to her being a suspected fallen membe

"Confession: A Roman Catholic app, aims to being modern Catholics back to the faith through a 'personalized examination of conscience for each user.' The app walks users through the sacrement, though, according to ABC News, doesn't act as a substitute for the real thing. First, you take an original Egyptian funeral papyrus (you can do what Joseph Smith did and buy one off of a traveling carnival barker): http://nowscape.com/mormon/papyrus/abra_4.gif _____ Then you cut off, rip off, or otherwise remove (if they're not missing already) the parts from it that don't fit what you're trying to get across to your readers: http://www.american-buddha.com/lds.p

Columbus was a money-driven slave trader. He was a brutal, murdering imperialist. He was a desperate, plundering gold seeker. He was a Christianity-colonizing White supremacist out to redeem the fallen "savages," while laboring under the illusion that he was being led through it all by the Holy Ghost. And during his premier voyage, he got lost (but, indeed, heroically recov

. . . and it is you who regards that as being one-upped. Blame the inconvenient Wilford. He's the one whose additional information I delivered to you. Might want to ask him to stop writing books. It's getting in the way of your polemics.

Rather, it is embarrassing to you because it essentially sinks your ship, given that presenting Wilford back to you in his own detailed word (and cited page-by-page, no less) overwhelmingly supports the historical assessment of Columbus that you are frantically attempting to deny, or at least significantly minimze. No wonder you probably won't bother reading Wilford's book, even though you now

"One of the early advocates of officially-sanctioned black slavery in the New World was, of all people, Las Casas, and his many critics have used this in efforts to discredit him. Las Casas proposed in 1517 the licensing of an extensive trade in blacks, and Charles I agreed. As Las Casas saw it, this was the only immediate alternative if his beloved Indians were to be spared destruction.

If you're going to claim to be sufficiently knowledgeable about Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer John Noble Wilford's views on Columbus, I would respectfully suggest that you actually read Chapter 10 of Wilford's highly-acclaimed biography on Columbus, entitled, "A Question of Humanity." (John Noble Wilford, "The Mysterious History of Columbus: An Exploration of the Man, the

I got together last night with a bunch of friends to watch the Super Bowl. There was a great spread of finger food, with plenty of various beverages for everyone. I saddled up to my typical Diet Coke and commenced, upon request, to draw caricatures of some of the group, while we all watched the game. A pool had been started and I was invited to participate. Since I know nothing about su
