The top argument on the original thread was: what drives moral behaviour, does it matter, and why is everyone generalizing? The problem was mixing beliefs and personality. Just separate the two, and there's your answer. If people are crazy and want to kill others, having something holding them back doesn't change the fact that they WANT to do it. Same goes for that good-guy, next-door neigh

Ugh! I hate hate hate hate HATE that, when Mormons make up stupid excuses like "they don't want to give something for nothing." It makes me want to slap the stupidity right across its face! I could write a freaking novel on why that logic is beyond ridiculous!

The funniest part is that the only place that Native Americans are never linked to is the middle east.

I consider myself agnostic. I can't say I believe in a higher deity, but I don't take on the attitude of believing myself to be correct past what I know. So I am more of an atheist-agnostic. Although I find this to be what makes the most sense, I still feel a little out of place...a little awkward, having been raised heavily Mormon and then Christian. Even though nothing made more sense, it didn'

Yeah he'd probably hang out with a lot of the atheists and agnostics because they care about truth so much. Those are the kinds of people he'd dig cause they'd be all "I'm glad we were able to have it explained." not like religious people saying "HA! I told you so!"

Even read what they themselves said, "Anyone touring the region, as Jesus did according to the New Testament, teaching and preaching in synagogues all through Galilee, would not have skipped Magdala, located on the Via Maris" So they're saying that because everyone who's anyone would have preached there. And THAT's why Jesus is real? That is literally saying Jesus is real because Jes

This post is not meant to be descriptive or an extensive sharing of experiences on my part. If you would like to share any thoughts, feelings, or experiences, feel free too do so. I very much enjoy conversations. I have found that some of the most important questions to ask myself about my depression are: What’s the meaning of my life? Am I doing what I was made to do? Does my daily experien

I love this forum. The only thing that frustrates me is when I post something or see someone else post something that isn't worded quite as well as it could be, and (even if the post has conversation-worthy content or a good point) they get a lot of critical comments on the problems with their post, but then when the OP clears up the confusion, everyone ditches the post. It's not that there's

I can't edit the original anymore, so I'm adding this reply to the top in hopes of clearing up more of the confusion. I was just saying that most sites for just hooking up have too many scam-tactics, aren't straight-forward, are too expensive, and are overall unappealing. What I meant is that I wanted to know if there were any straightforward hook up sites that worked just like the dating site

Well it isn't for myself. I was just saying that most sites for just hooking up have too many scam-tactics, aren't straight-forward, are too expensive, and are overall unappealing. What I meant is that I wanted to know if there were any straightforward hook up sites that worked just like the dating sites and were actually appealing. Harassment can't be stopped, but some of these desperate guys

Well I used a definitive word but what that was supposed to mean is the -typically- unwanted crowd. I wasn't saying it's the crowd I don't want. It's the crowd I frequently hear other people not wanting. And the end goal was to refer them to a place where they would be more likely to fit in and get whatever it is that they're looking for.

hmmmm.....well I guess I should specify that I'm a guy first off...that's why I was saying that I didn't realize how bad it was. I'm a guy so I never felt any of the harassment and I just had a moment where it really hit me after reading an article. I was also never one of the guys who was pushy or rude to women about these things so I didn't know what guys like that were actually saying. Basical

Sorry, this comment is definitely not on the main topic of conversation, but "cultural Mormon" is basically the exact phrase, most people use to describe the exact kind of person you described. (My apologies for the repetitive use of words). It almost feels as though you already knew it and you said that just to test us on how well we really know our vocabulary words ;)

There are a lot of books out there that talk about it and there are sites that cover these topics. Really the most difficult part is just being able to have enough cross-references to prove the validity.

That's not too much credit. I believe without a shadow of a doubt that they're plotting. You're welcome for the gag worthy phrase ;) But seriously, that's a thing. I sing and play as well and they tried to do it to me. I sang once and they asked me to come back again for something else. I've been a member before and I know how they are when you go regularly, so when I decided to go the second

They have also forgotten that sexual attention isn't necessarily good attention. And the other thing that many men don't realize is that it's not like all of the guys approaching or messaging these women are a bunch of Don Juans. When guys think about women being lucky, they're imagining a flock of extremely attractive women messaging them about all of their fantasies. Then these men take what

It has very fully come to my attention just how uncomfortably appalling the attitude many men have towards women is. In my feeble attempt to help the cause of stopping cyber harassment, (take careful note of my wording right there. I don't believe this is a groundbreaking idea, but more of a hope to lightly spread this partially formed idea) I would like to ask a few questions and throw out a sug

I make sure to use LDS church or Mormons as well. But that's funny! I've gotta start clarifying it like that when they say "the church".

That would be quite a trip. Seeing how the original Mormons would react to the new order of the church. Better yet, imagine if the Mormons nowadays got a chance to live in Joseph Smith's time!
