Why are people such dicks towards depressed people and when talking about depressed people? Even from a non-depressed standpoint it seems like that all the time? Idk what to do about it. I'm just so sick of close minded people. (I myself am not currently depressed for the record)

Even the non-Mormon folk. Especially when they live in a desert. Sometimes you hear “we’re not righteous enough” or “we need to pray harder” and all I can think is "Or maybe it’s because (by your own choice) you live in a freakin' DESERT!” Seriously, sometimes I feel like I’m dealing with little children. And that’s not the only one, there are plenty of other complete

That's true, and it is one of the big reasons why it is referred to as a cult. Everyone is too tired and busy to even care about finding out the truth.

I don't care what religion someone is. Praying for climate change is just plain stupid! I live in Arizona and everyone always prays for rain. I'm like "right. Cause God's just gonna decide he's tired of Arizona being a desert." If it bothers you so much, it's your own da%@ fault for living in a desert!

I agree. It's just such an opinionated subject.

Which is even more ridiculous because the point of the modern prophets was for the specific reason of letting us know all things! Wtf Mormon God?! It's almost like you DON'T want anyone to believe in you!

I'm a 21 year old guy and I can tell you right now that being an "adult" doesn't mean that he has enough life experience to handle deep family issues like that. All he has ever experienced is childhood and highschool. In the grand scheme of things, it's not a lot. If he contacts you, good for him, but don't expect him to deal with this extremely well. Whatever happens now doesn't

Being forced to watch a terribly written and produced children's show while being told that you just don't have a deep enough understanding to receive it's message.

Yeah small amounts that you rotate out regularly would be the way to go if you actually did it.

It sounds like a good idea to be prepared, but I don’t like the Mormon’s end of the world mentality over it. They make it seem weird...

I know exactly what you mean. I don’t like misinterpreting what people say so I try really hard to look for context clues without overthinking it.

Oh I totally agree that they overuse it. What you wrote is what I’m talking about. The missionaries are using it unnecessarily and probably to hide different meanings.

Multitask?! Hahahahaha don’t even get me started! Being good a multitasker is RARE. If I could only count the number of times I’ve heard someone say “I can multitask” and then miss everything I’ve said is overwhelming. People WISH they could multitask. Never believe it though.

The only time saying ha-ha or putting a smiley annoys me is when it's totally unnecessary or is being used to hide a different meaning. It would be hard to give an example because a lot of it is dependant on context, and the person you are talking to.

It's funny that they did a study about that because I've always felt that way about them anyway. It used to bother me a lot when people wouldn't use emoticons or say "haha" in texts. Although, when phones and texting first came out, I had more social trouble anyway and I was terrible with social cues, so they helped me feel more sure of what the other person was feeling. Although, it

Good point. If I could edit the post now, I would definitely add in that I am talking about the Christian God without the implication that it's the right God or the only God, because it sure as hell isn't.

Hahaha well as far as my knowledge goes, the Mormon and Christian deities are both male so yes, the God I am speaking of is male. As I said above, it's not "my" god because I don't believe in him. Not sure if I'm just misunderstanding that particular use of pronouns in reference to myself, but I might as well make it clear just in case.

Although, I admit that it was probably confusing. I should have switched the Christian and atheist examples. That was my bad.

You know that was an argument against the traditional Christian view of God right? Like how Christians always say "Oh you need to think about heaven and God to live a happy life and if you don't believe in God, what's going to happen afterwards?! You atheists must be miserable." That argument was to say that there is a perfectly reasonable parallel to a Christians way of thinking, an

Haha well that's one way of putting it. I can't say it's "my" Jewish desert genie considering I don't believe in it, but yeah, it pretty much is a genie if you consider the amount of prayers it actually answers.
