It was Packer's talk turned into anti-gay pamphlet and appears to be missing from the church website at present. To the One: Address given to the Twelve Stake Fireside, Brigham Young University, March 5, 1978 To Young Men Only: General Conference Priesthood Session, October 2, 1976

Control sex and you control the person, the person's money, etc etc. In the early days the most "faithful" men got the most wives--pretty good motivation. Seems a bit voyeuristic at times.

What's with posting priesthood session talks on the internet? Years ago what went on in priesthood session was a Big Secret and non-priests, especially women, were not allowed to hear about it. Now all girls have to do is google it up? How do priesthood holders maintain their feelings of specialness and superiority?

Only a small movie room and celestial room? I'd be asking for my money back.

That's ok, they can revise it and eventually delete it and he will have never said it. Problem solved.

Whoa. Check this out. Totally twisted his words and changed their meaning in the revised version. Not invited to speak at GC again for 4 1/2 years.

Not very complimentary to pigs, who are generally pretty clean. A good janitor really is the pearl of great price. Good for you for not just shutting up and pretending your contract never happened.

This is so true. Apparently the Mormonism of today is quite a bit different than what I experienced in the early 70s. They used to teach that the church was a peculiar people, now they do everything just to look like part of the mainstream. Missionaries who come by my house have NO idea that the church ever excluded blacks or taught that the Lamanites were descended from Jews. I hear they kee

Makes me wonder what qualifies a person to be "called" as a "Specialist"--surely not the leadership's inner circle, best friends, etc. This is just too over the top!

I'm so not surprised. Mean, sneaky and abusive. The code words were all there, everyone knows to whom he was referring.

Seems to me copies of the Journal of Discourses are getting harder and harder to find. The church seems to be shoving it under the rug, along with McConkie's Mormon Doctrine, revising its own history as fast as it can. Ask a teenage TBM and they don't even know blacks couldn't hold the priesthood. Garments keep shrinking with modern day fashion. So much for BKKKP's "We cannot change; we will

Plausible deniability but people get the message and LDS gays can hate themselves even more. This is sneaky at its meanest.

This is a sad topic. Sad, but true. Imagine the lack of status/self-esteem of an older, never married TBB woman. The best advice to all women, LDS or not, is trust YOURSELF. Learn to rely on YOURSELF. See yourself for who you really are and not as reflected through the eyes of a man.

Wow. So it's all about sex. Get to the celestial kingdom so you can have sex. Satan is miserable because he has no body and can't have sex. I shouldn't be surprised, though, because Joseph Smith was pretty fixated on sex (as well as other men's wives).

It's rote, knee-jerk "obedience." If a GA told them to stand in the street naked they'd do it.

Exactly, cl2. BKKKP and the GAs are obsessed with sex, and other people's sex lives. If the power to create offspring is the key, then all unable to have children due to age, infertility, etc, should be refused temple marriage.

So to go on a mission you have to go through the temple, which entails making lifetime commitments and promises. And it's ok to do this without a testimony? What?!

What's with BKP's obsession with sex and homosexuality. Sounds like a closet case. Why not worry about feeding the hungry, taking care of the sick, etc?
