I had a different experience with 3 women J.W. several weeks ago, who I invited into my house. I am a good debater, so their chatter doesn't bother me. At any rate, they decided to leave within 20 minutes or so, and moreover, (by happenstance) left behind a nice ball-bearing pen on my couch. (So, I'm ahead as of now.)

At one time, decades ago, I put magazine pictures, in frames, on my hallway wall, showing the super human specimens and heroes of the BofM characters. (How naive can you get?)

When I go outside to get my morning newspaper, I usually stop to talk to the roses on my two rosebushes, cupping a rose in my hand so I can get a full dose of the aroma (it's important to buy only those that do have aroma's, as this is often bread out of roses these days. (Also, 'they' say that all living things have feelings.) One of them is even a 'brand' rosebush, dark red, named 'Beverly

Thank you-all helpful RfM people. Your advise and comments are much appreciated. Like you say, I don't want it to become a habit, but I shall work on doing it "once", with a "once only warning". Even so, I don't keep much 'back-up' food in my house (it grows old in a hurry), but have a couple of cans of something in my cupboards, and something in my small freezer. Plus

My cleaning lady, of Mexican decent, instead of saying they are 'bad', she says they are 'ugly'. (She speaks some English, and I speak some Spanish, so we communicate OK together. We are friends. Plus, as I have an orange tree--I live in So. Calif.--I always send her home with an orange, or banana for her lunch.)

I pay (the city) for a service in my community for people who live alone, to deliver meals to my door. About a week ago, a neighbor from across the street knocked on my door, and told me he wasn't able to get to the door fast enough when they came to his house (he was predisposed, and the policy is never to leave meals on porches). (Volunteers bring the food.) He also said to me, "I'm hu

This is disgusting! With all the money the wards get from tithing (etc.), are (in my understanding) sent on to the church in general, plus ward members are still stuck with having to do the cleaning. And, as usual, it is the coordinator who ends up doing the work for people who aren't about to spend their day-off cleaning the building. IMO, active members need to learn how to 'Just say no

Have you ever noticed that church leaders and Mormons are often braggarts? I was noticing this in the Church News, where, often, there is bragging about this or that (such as a missionary who survived being hit by a car). Also, I just read (in the CN), about Mormon athletes who have extra power to win an award in their field, as they obey the WOW, or whatever. Doesn't the saying go, that i

I worked at the L.A. temple for awhile, as an exiting-farewell greater. The man on the other end of the counter was the greeter, and had a mustache. They told him to shave it off. He was disgusted with taking so much of his time and gas to get to the temple, to work for free, and wasn't about to shave-off his mustache. So, he said to me something to the effect of "That's it--no more for

A had a very kindly, intelligent Bishop, interview me (we were friends), but his problem was onsetting alshimer (spl?). So, he had long yellow pads he used to write things down on (the same thing over and over), to try and help his memory. He still worked as a doctor who witnessed for his patients in court. Sad.

I forgot to mention another item to follow my first two on this subject. Packer continued for a year to try and get me X'd by my Stake President. He even sent someone over to personally collect my 'temple recommend' card. (Which was, of course, no loss to me.) Also, when my husband passed-away, he came over with two other men to offer me his condolences, and at the same time, mentioned o

I want to correct this statement I wrote: "I got a call to meet with my Stk. Pres.to meet with him in his office the next day." Actually, he called me out of my Ward Sacrament Mtg., and told me I was to meet with him within a hour or two at his Stake Office. ---- The church doesn't like to allow it's picked-on members to have time enough, or know why this request is made, so that

I don't want to worry you, "mightybuffalo", but..... I got a call to meet with my Stk. Pres.to meet with him in his office the next day. As well as his being my superior in the Stake, we were personal friends. I though he was going to promote me to a Stake calling. To my surprise, it was to tell me I would be excommunicated if I didn't commit, in writing, to not share the result

I've always had a fear of being buried alive. Therefore, I have made it known (in writing), I want to be cremated, and buried in an urn next to my husband (in a casket). Definitely not sitting on someone's fireplace mantel. (UGH!) ---- When I was a Rel. Soc. President, a woman I visited with was the only member of the church in her family (that I was aware of), and she was completely in

Ummmm, what interests me here, is 'How did it get started'? Did God plant this urge inside us, to "multiply and replenish the earth"? I don't believe 'evolution did it', (someone is always trying to claim they found 'the missing link'), any more than I believe that nature evolved humans from a creature that strayed away from the ocean and learned to breath air and walk, and also a

Let's face it. Girls are different than boys (even, as it would appear, transgender males). And females have other problems to manage in the bathroom than do such males. Frankly, most women don't care to take care of monthly personal matters with another gender looking on, and need more privacy. That is, women have to do more than just stand at an urinal and let go. Thus, IMO, women, in g

My daughter-in-law is a certified veterinarian and would gladly help you out, but she lives in Knoxville, Tenn. So, your only real choice is to bite-the-bullet, and take her to a vet nearer you. Is there any service you could provide which could satisfy the vet's bill? (Cleaning out the area for a week or month, baby-sitting the animals over so-many nights, etc.) If so, you could also get

Church News, Jan. 14, 2018: "Our goal is to find quality investigators and lead them to repentance and conversion." (Per Elder Brent N. Repentance of what? Because, as it woul
