I find it funny that whenever you see a national news story that mentions the Mormon Church, there's always a scold in the comments clutching their pearls and claiming persecution for saying the naughty word. It makes them look all the more pathetic.

Only the man would have thought of it exactly this way. There is a built in conflict of interest which leaves the sister wives competing with each other for resources and attention. So it's playing out exactly as one would expect it to. Polygamy doesn't work in the real world. Even Robyn will find this out when Cody has nothing left to offer.

Head Twit spent $44 Billion and will have collapsed the entire business within a month. He's actually rarely right about anything at all.

It's no surprise to me that Rexburg is awash in nutters of the LDS variety. Provo/Orem has always been so too. It's far fringier than mainstream mormonism around SLC.

It seems like what happened to me too. I certainly felt I'd outgrown their situational ethics, their judgementalism, their narrow world view, etc. It was all just too small for me.

I don't know if major disappointment is quite the right descriptor of this rift. It seems like what happens is that people like Heather are seekers of a moral clarity (especially in times of crisis) and that once hers appears to supersede the leadership of her religion, she realizes she's been duped. That's what seems to cause the digging deeper and the desire to look behind the curtain. Then t

How should we respond to this when we don't know anything about what's going on?

The abject ignorance around the issue is astonishing. Thanks for your part in illustrating the absurdity.

That's the thing about viruses. They don't care a fig about your politics. They just want to invade and replicate.

It's some people's job to track down emails etc. of people who are or were pawns of the corporation. I don't believe that just because you resigned that they treat you as if you never existed. And I say that as someone who resigned.

I think you summed it up when you said this: "One of the LDS church's biggest criticisms of late is its lack of, or attempts at PR regarding, charitable giving. In my opinion, this is a red herring. In my opinion, that is not the primary purpose for a church at all" And this: "the church would bring members to the point where the members would do the charity work by themselves.

Aren't the church ranches also using senior "service" missionaries? Isn't it basically the same thing, except the length of service?

My understanding is that the planners believed that the future of flying is going to be on larger and larger jets. So they made the concourses much longer to accommodate the larger aircraft. Then something funny happened and airlines found that they needed smaller jets instead. Now it's miles and miles between services, etc, but no moving sidewalks or trams.

Thank you for sharing this. It seems pretty spot on. It's been pretty depressing seeing so many Utahn's in seeming denial that anything bad could possibly happen to them or because of them.

You are very kind, Elder Berry. I talk to my mom and her second husband weekly. It's a very hard time for them as they are at their 80's also. I tell her I love her often too. She doesn't need condemnation from me. Her life is hard enough as it is. I just ask her not to talk to me about dad. I'm done with the subject.

I'm in a similar situation. Only the roles are reversed. It was my father who was abusive and my mother who never protected us. He was murdered when he was 46 and I see it as a gift. I'm no longer interested in thinking about his abuse. I no longer care. I'm free of him and it. But I can't and won't forgive him for what he put us all through. It was absolutely unnecessary. For those who

If you do a drive about on any given Saturday to the temples in Zion, you will find full parking lots. There are still many, many couples here who want a temple marriage. And not all of them first timers.

Everyone is allowed a view. But not everyone is allowed to go onto a commercial platform and have absolute rights. It just doesn't work that way.
