Just for the small time Ive been an atheist it has been hard to let everyone assume I am still a Christian. I'm usually very vocal about my beliefs, but that was easy when everyone around me argeed. I also want to stand up for humanism in my community and online, and I can't do that "in the closet."

"Here it goes... Recently having graduated college, having a daughter, and getting a job... i have felt pretty good about my life, and about America. I made some investments in mutual funds last month as preparation for my future. When they announced obama won, and it showed all of the worthless inbred pieces of trash cheering because there government aid will continue, i felt beyond disg

My family is religious about their republicanism. They are head over heels for Glenn Beck, Rush, and Hannity. Fox news plays all waking hours of the day in their homes. My mom asked me who I voted for and I refused to tell her, just that it wasn't Romney. She infers that it was for Obama and is outraged. She thinks I'm crazy. Last night they were angry and upset that Obama won, and my grandma

The church is handing out copies of the constitution like candy and even a template for FHE to do about it. My family is all excited about it.

1.) my YW leader finding out I had sex with my bf. she took me out for ice cream to have a "talk" with me about it, gave me a New Era with an article about breaking up with non members if they refuse to convert, then she told the bishop. The following Sunday I had to talk to the bishop about my sexual experiences in a closed door office. He never asked me to babysit again lol. 2.) Af

So last year I decided to get my first tattoo. It says "faith" on my foot with a flower. To me it meant/means having faith that everything will be OK. I did not mean it in a religious sense. Oddly enough the tattoo led me to exmormon.org and my eventual exit, because I was googling "how to tell your mormon family you got a tattoo". Somehow I saw something on the JOD, google

Ok I did it. Here is what I posted: Ok...so I do NOT want another debate/war on here. I am posting this article because I was told during that debate that Mormons do not get excommunicated for speaking out against the church. I now know someone who has been called to an excommunication hearing on Sept 30th for writing articles that are critical of Romney and the church. He had only had the blo

I was regretting saying anything on FB, because I felt like it was pointless and I hadn't got any ideas across to anyone. Lo and behold, I ran into an inactive Mormon at the grocery store (and I mean inactive for many years). She said she saw the FB debate and was shocked to learn about some of the things I posted and how weird of a religion it is. She said her brother was trying to get his name

So my mom wanted me to go with her to Glen Beck's "Unelectable". I won't talk about the political part in respect to the rules, but he did go on for the last 30-40 minutes of the show talking about god and divine providence. He said that George Washington prayed to get across the Delaware to the lord and god sent a fog unlike anything they had ever seen before just for a brief amount o

I feel like I live on the internet and in my head more than I live in my life if that makes sense. But I can't stop :( I think its all so overstimulating for my mind. Like I tried to read a book yesterday and I found myself wanting to skim and getting bored, which has never happened to me before. Should I just cool it for a while? If it weren't for the internet I'd still be a Mormon, so I

I think eventually all of society will have to accept it, and the church will change their stance along with them, just like with the blacks and the mark of cain and all that.
