Mormonism isn't about accepting or appreciating you for what you are. Instead, it's all about fitting into a stereotype, and if you are unable to fit in, or don't wish to, you're labeled a terrible person and an "apostate". In my personal experiences with the members, I learned that there's no real friendships in mormonism, and I really doubt if the members even know what that means.

I remember quite a few elder missionaries from my era returning home early for having sex with both members and investigators (separately, I believe :-} ) And there was a sister missionary who supposedly had sex with her boyfriend/investigator while swimming with him in the baptismal tank. She had the key, sent her companion to do the mishie work with some member and... voila! Members told me

Tommy you filthy liar, give me back my youth years and the 15 years of my life that your stupid cult robbed me. PAY CASH for my 60+ hours of missionary work per week, in today's values, and using your own salary as the reference. Pay also for the 15 years of my free labor that your cult exploited, using MY skills, MY goodwill and MY talents while verbally and mentally abusing me. Your

I was a strong TBM and a very dedicated missionary and look where I am now? :) Passionate people tend to be more real and no-nonsense than others. But this could be just my opinion. I hope you and your former companion have a great time :)

It doesn't add up because it's fabricated, or at least heavily exaggerated. As simple as that. TSCC just wants to use this kid as their newest poster boy.

Oh please! It's a gross misrepresentation to say that he "survived" Boston just because he was one block away from one of the bombs, and Paris, just because he happened to be serving in France at the time of the attacks. He was not injured in any of these events. Now the cult is already building a completely phony "faith promotion" story, Paul H. Dunn style, and using this

I think, after the european Uchtdorf, it's now time for a south american to be appointed and Claudio R. M. Costa should be the pick. He's a popular leader in Brazil and has served an area president in Idaho, is fluent in english language and has licked enough butts for the last 40 years. He deserves the chance. That would make the faithful south american members feel so special, it might b

I must add that I had the most amazing feeling of freedom and liberation when I did it. There's definitely something VERY wrong with an organization that wants to control even what you wear under your clothes.

I stopped wearing mine back in 2010 and I didn't even remove the stupid symbols. I just tossed them in the garbage and watched as it got picked up minutes later.

I served in Brazil and returned in 1998 I had between 50-60 people who got baptized but since I'm a woman, I wasn't allowed to do the job, some male missionary baptized them for me. All of them were poor and struggling with all sorts of problems, financial, personal, family, you name it. Lots of children and teenagers, a few young women and single men and one couple with a baby. Very f

I had been reticent on many topics within the lds faith but GBH's interview to Larry King truly was a slap in my face. After that, I started my first serious research about the cult and the shelf broke forever.

Slept in, went to have lunch at the chinese buffet, then cruised around town in husband's new truck. It's been a sunny and warm day, perfect for being outside enjoying life.

There was a sister missionary on my mission in Brazil who happened to be first called to serve her mission in the same city where she lived her entire life. She then called the LDS headquarters and they had it fixed within a couple days and she was sent to this other mission across the country. So much for divine inspirated missionary callings :)

One of my best friends was able to keep her marriage together after her husband finally joined mormonism. He then climbed the ladder and became a bishop. So they NEED mormonism in their lives for the sake of their marriage. Like the superglue that keeps a broken porcelain mug together, they just NEED TSCC in their lives or their entire system will collapse. I love her enough to never bring

I think mormons see their relatives just as assets they acquire in order the win the exaltation. It has nothing to do with having an eternal family in the afterlife, it's about building a narcissistic altar to themselves. For that reason, they will put TSCC above their family relationships and even discard them when they leave the cult, like they're "defective" and need to be tossed a

I have a friend from Brazil who served his mission in Nagoya, Japan about 10 years ago. He never learned japanese other than a few key words, but he was able to improve his english since all of his companions and his MP were americans. The only people he taught were americans and brazilians living there and that by chance crossed his path. And no, he's not mentally retarded. It's just that the
