I have a relative who has suddenly decided to go on a mission. This was something of a surprise to this relative's significant other but the latter has offered significant support for that choice. Anyway, this relative wants to get their call soon and has openly said so. Their desire is to receive their call to the field within a matter of a few short weeks--so as to expedite entry into th

16985. Huh? . . .
"Religious knowledge" could be defined as how much you know about religion. A good way to determine your level of knowledge about religion would be to take a basic quiz on religion. Next test question . . . :)

During these serious times, people of all faiths should remember these four religious truths:   1. Muslims do not recognize Jews as God's chosen people.   2. Jews do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah.   3. Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the leader of the Christian world.   4. Mormons do not recognize each other at Hooters.

Holy heresy! When it comes to religious beliefs, leave it to the godless to know more and the godly to know less: "'Poll on Religion Finds Ignorance' "A new survey of Americans' knowledge of religion found that atheists, agnostics, Jews and Mormons outperformed Protestants and Roman Catholics in answering questions about major religions, while many respondents could not correctly

Got this cut-out, conveyor belt, blank-stare auto-response email today from a wind-up Mormon believer (edited as the devout believer does, and may continue to respond back): "Dear Brother Benson, "As sad as it has made me from reading your posting regarding President Benson, I'm wondering if you remain a member of the church. For those of us who are converts to the church and adm

. . . I have seen and have filed certain elements of the rants from this poster about the alleged episode of which Cheryl speaks. Whacked. Completely whacked.

It is as fictional as the Book of Mormon itself--which is saying as lot (unless, as you suggest, the creator might be a gullible Mormon, who then wouldn't think it's fictional). But as you and I both know (given that we both know who this person is), it's a tall tale of the first order. Spea

The poster in question has an overly-active imagination that is not affected by the actual reality of the situation, as you well know. I therefore don't think it's worth rehashing it in this thread.

I am familiar with what Cheryl is talking about and, yes, this exMo poster about whom she speaks with justifiable criticism is, in fact, lying. I could amplify on this in this forum if Cheryl wishes, or if others (including perhaps Admin) think it would be appropriate to do so; otherewise, I will leave my comments as is.

. . . to hijack threads by converting them into pseudo-discussions about feline urinary tract infections. Seriously. We're not talking rocket scientists over there.

The flight attendant announced over the PA system that the plane was headed to Phoenix where it was 95 degrees, no wind and clear visibility. Then toward the end of the flight, he announced we would soon be landing in Salt Lake City. Say what? I turned to a passenger sitting next to me, who was chuckling. A moment later, the flight attendant came back on the intercom again and repeated
