2. Communists: "Okay, let’s take the gloves off. This insurrection didn’t just happen. It was a set-up just as the assassination of Martin Luther King was a set-up. The Communists and their Black Power fanatics have been working to create just such a situation for years. They even told us what they were planning to do, again and again, as they did it ...

3. 4. Sex and Drugs and Rock n Roll: "Americans are well aware that there has been a revolution. In morals. In manners. In speech. In crime rates. In riots. In violence. In drugs. In sex. In pornography. In politics. In movies. In education. In music.

5. Martin Luther King: "The man who is generally recognized as the leader of the so-called civil rights movement today in America is a man who has lectured at a Communists training school, who has solicited funds through Communist sources, who hired a Communist as a top-level aide, who has affiliated with Communist fronts, who is often praised in the Communist press and who unquestionably parallels the Communist line. This same man advocates the breaking of the law and has been described by J. Edgar Hoover as ‘the most notorious liar in the country’." (Ezra Taft Benson, US News and World Report 30th November 1964)
6. Liberals: "The self-called liberal is usually one who has broken with the fundamental principles or guiding philosophy of the group to which he belongs ... He claims membership in an organization but does not believe in its basic concepts; and sets out to reform it by changing its foundations." (John A Widtsoe)
7. Black Slaves: "The south will cry out against me as being uncharitable, unfeeling, unkind, and wholly unacquainted with the Gospel of Christ ... the first mention we have of slavery is found in the Holy Bible ... And so far from that prediction being averse to the mind of God, it remains as a lasting monument of the decree of Jehovah, to the shame and confusion of all who have cried out against the South, in consequence of their holding the sons of Ham in servitude ... I can say, the curse is not yet taken off from the sons of Canaan, neither will be until it is affected by as great a power as caused it to come; and the people who interfere the least with the purposes of God in this matter, will come under the least condemnation before him; and those who are determined to pursue a course, which shows an opposition, and a feverish restlessness against the decrees of the Lord, will learn, when perhaps it is too late for their own good, that God can do his own work, without the aid of those who are not dictated by His counsel." 8. Women: "It is believed in the world that our females are all common women. Well, in one sense, they are common - that is, they are like all other women, I suppose; but they are not unclean, for we wipe all the unclean ones from our midst: we do not only wipe them from our streets, but we wipe them out of existence." 9. Apostates: "I say, rather than that apostates should flourish here, I will unsheath my Bowie knife, and conquer or die. [Great commotion in the congregation, and a simultaneous burst of feeling, assenting to the declaration.] Now, you nasty apostates, clear out, or judgment will be put to the line, and righteousness to the plummet. [Voices generally ‘go it, go it’] If you say it is right, raise your hands. [All hands up] Let us call upon the Lord to assist us in this, and every good work." 10. Pornography: "We live in a season of war. We live in a season of arrogance. We live in a season of wickedness, pornography, immorality. All of the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah haunt our society. Our young people have never faced a greater challenge. We have never seen more clearly the lecherous face of evil.
"If they want to get involved in pornography, they can do so very easily ... They can sit at a computer and revel in cyberspace filth.
"I fear this may be going on in some of your homes. It is vicious. It is lewd and filthy. It is enticing and habit-forming.
