Number 16, should look familiar to all the exmos here :)

My favorite one there that I've read is 'The Giver.'

Love The Giver. When the husband and I married, we realized we had three copies between the two of us. Lol. I haven't read The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, but I've seen the docudrama. I think I cried through most of it. What a beautiful story.

I have read seven of the books on that list. I'll have to check out the others. :)

I've read a number of them. I agree with those who praised The Giver.

A great book is Middlesex. Really good story and great look into the little known world of the Intersexed. With those conditions, and there is a very broad spectrum of them, there is no arguing but that hey WERE born that way. Really turns the childish Proclamation On The Family on its head. Gordo and his ilk had/have no understanding that the world is not all black and white.

on the list. I read "The Giver" with my kids when they were in school. It was required reading. It freaked me out.

I read it when my kids read it for school too. The ending freaked me out. Did you believe the protagonist was going to commit suicide? Because that was the impression I got.
