I think it would the members who are super TBM. People who are not at all known, like one of my friends. They actually follow all of the rules and practice what the Church preaches.
As for their leaders, they're not always so honest.
I'm sure B.H. Roberts was one of the most intellectually honest the Church ever produced. He did even stand up to Heber J. Grant when he wanted to "edit" Church history.
I can only imagine the reason he ended up never leaving the Church.
The Rector family was all gussied up and heading for conference, while their neighbors drove past with a trailered boat, obviously heading for a day on the ocean (I believe they lived in San Diego at that time.)
Elder Rector's son said wistfully, "Gee, Dad, they don't LOOK miserable at all. . ."
The man who stabbed Heber C. Kimball in the eye for selling his daughter Helen Mar into polygamy so that he too could participate in illicit sexual activities alongside Joseph Smith.
Oh I forgot. I haven't actually completed this action yet. If there really is an afterlife it will surely be done.
Absolutely I have to give my vote and 100% support for J Golden Kimball. A GA who couldn't stop swearing. When he spoke in GC, they never knew what they were going to get.
The most honest people in Mormon history were probably killed before they got their message out or caused enough of a fuss to get their names included in the written history.
I believe David Whitmer was the most vocal of the major players from early on. He supposedly maintained his testimony of the BoM, but at least he spoke up and exposed JS as a liar and fallen prophet at best.
