My husband put his letter in the mail to SLC on a Monday and by Sunday, the bishop and Stk pres. had given their obligatory visits. The following Tuesday, that's one week and one day, he received his "Please come back" packet.
I emailed my resignation on last Thursday evening, March 3rd, and today, March 8, Stk. Pres calls me informing me I need to sign a paper. I would have done it today, but we are all sick with the flu. I will sign soon and watch my mail for the packet.
Our family has an interesting exit story that has yet to be written. My husbands family were one of the founding families of our town and are highly known and respected (for the most part) and our decision to stop going to church rocked a lot of individuals' foundations. I think the local leaders just want to sweep us under the rug and pull a big heavy sofa over top of said rug.
Anyone else experience rapid releases?(That sounds funny, but I don't mean it that way. Maybe another thread for that one.) Are record removals slowing up generally and SLC HQ is able to act quickly on requests? Or have they increased the number of employees/Sr. Missionaries in Dodge's office to accommodate the influx.
