We had a big snow storm here today, so I had a snow day off work. :o)
So the groundhog in our area did not see his shadow, calling for an early spring.
But what exactly is an early spring supposed to be, because 6 weeks of winter would put us into the middle of March. That would actually be an early spring. LOL
It's most-definitely not warm here right now, unfortunately. It's currently 5 degrees Fahrenheit, -15 Celsius. Brrrrr.

Our's predicted an early spring. Yay! Thanks Balzac Billy! (that's our local groundhog's name) Oh ya, and my son likes to pronounce the town name 'Balzac' a certain way, and then howl in laughter. :(
Where we place our faith upon a rodent, to predict the weather, but reject 10,000 scientific papers that draw the same conclusion about our climate, that we are affecting it and other species negatively. We ignore the canaries dropping deAd in the coalmine at our own peril.
I don’t think anyone takes the groundhog all that seriously as a predictor of weather, do they? It’s a cute little celebration in the middle of winter, one where we can think ahead to spring in anticipation, even if it may be an early spring for reasons relating to climate disruption. Winter sucks.
It’s like the fourth of July. Oh, we became an independent country today … let’s blow some shit up. What’s up with that? It’s just a tradition, that’s what … a fun one. I like Groundhog Day, it signals spring is coming around the corner. To my recollection, our local groundhog is rarely right, but we let him live … he’s cute.
We just got 33 inches of snow in 7 days--a record! Al Gore happened to walk up my street, and kindly helped shovel me out for a half-hour or so. He said all this snow is cogently explained by AL-gorithms that nobody except Prof. Jonathan Gruber of M.I.T. understands.
A record hey? That's why I don't use the term global warming. Climate disruption suits what we are seeing better. But we're on the warm side of that massive jet stream undulation were I'm at, so it's been nice and warm here, unaturally so ... and I have enjoyed not having much of a winter anymore ... for years now.
You should read 'Waking the Frog', it's a good book.
Such mysteries are explained only in esoteric AL-GOR'ithms understood only by brilliant thinkers like M.I.T.'s Jonathan Bruber. Silly me, I forgot that "climate warming" is no longer operable, it's "Climatic Catastrophe" now.
Rev. Richard Malthus has scientifically determined that we will starve to death first.
Yup..80 today!..and TG all the Superbowl..Phoenix open ppl have gone away!!..Scottsdale is cool..again..oh but thanks for spending all your money here!....
Same to you Susan and all of you other exmo.org denizens...we have 3 semi-official weather predicting rodents in Canada. Our Alberta groundhog, Balzac Billy predicted an early spring...works for me! The other 2 I believe forecast more nuclear winter for central Canada and the east coast...whatever...not going there...lol.
