Email Resignation

Has anyone here used email to resign? If so what was your experience and how long did it take for them to respond?

Edit: Do know if they still process it through your local bishop/stake president or do the record offices just deal with it now? Also, I currently am living back at home. Do you think that they would contact my parents and tell them I resigned?

It was very easy. I resigned on June 23rd and the mormon cult formally considered me no longer a member on July 16th.
