The conference appearances of the learned Zombies of Zion are not unlike Trekkie conventions where participants extol far out fiction and deftly debate the nuances of their favorite episodes and make-believe characters, chapter and verse.

At least the Trekkies don't base their life decisions on the Gospel of Gene.

Oh heck no! I've been to four fan conventions and they are far more fun than the Morg conference can ever dream of being. For one thing, there are adult beverages being served. Famous actors are available to chat with you and sign autographs. There are fun day trips visiting show or movie locations. Memorabilia and costumes are auctioned off. You get to see blooper reels that are never shown anywhere else. Producers answer all of your questions. Bonus: There are tons of people who don't think it the least bit weird that you can quote script dialogue verbatim.

I would take a fan convention over General Conference any day of the week!
