I forgot to share this yesterday. I was in Sunday School and someone brought up "fence sitters" and this lady got really nasty about it. She said something along the lines of "the fence sitters already chose their side. The Lord even says if you're not fighting for him, you're against him. Being neutral isn't fighting for our cause, so they're against him. They're our enemies."

It sounded like something a Sith Lord would spew out. I don't even take Church seriously anymore, so I was trying not to laugh out loud at her comment.

I guess it's nice to hear someone be upfront about it instead of the passive aggressive comments.

I had noticed comments like that much more right before I left (recently) as well. It is definitely becoming more common. This is why I wonder how people who choose to stay and "be the change" survive - the mainstream church people not only don't want them there but seem to be more and more agitated about it.

She is referring to Matthew 12:30.

However, Mark 9:40 says exactly the opposite: if you are not against him, you are FOR him.

One of the glaring contradictions in the Bible.

IMHO this is indicative of hurling ourselves backward to the glorious days if the Spanish inquisition when non believers were routinely tortured and burned alive for their doubt.
