I usually post and reply to posts at work like it were my smoke break. Some weekends when the Mormonism in me flares up I would get on RfM. But Monday morning I will be at a new job after leaving the old working there almost a decade.

The new job is going to require me to learn a lot. It is going to challenge me like I wasn't middle aged. I probably won't ever get on RfM there at least not for an extended time period.

I'm going to miss reading the posts, replying and making my own (more than I should.)

There are a lot of newbies who have found RfM and I'm excited for them. To the newbs - know that Mormonism, no matter what your take on it being, is a fake. It only leads to tolerating inauthentic life instead of the multitudinousness paths (through mists of darkness in Mormon parlance) of human ingenuity and authenticity.

That is all. Good luck on your recovery if that is what you are here for. At my last job I worked with the one Exmormon I've ever known in real life. She told me yesterday at work when she was saying goodbye to me that we will never recover. Mormonism has our families and influenced us when we were highly suggestible - as kids.

She said even today she checks to see that her skirts, shorts, and dresses aren't too high on her thigh because of the modesty madness of her youth.

I'll look forward to your return. The newbies will always need you. That's why I stay on board. I know things that new converts will never have heard about. I'd like to save others the torture and money that I gave to LDS, Inc.

Good luck in your new job. You'll do fine learning the new things. It will rejuvenate you. Au revoir friend.

We'll miss ya, Elder Berry. I'd say hurry back, but want things to go really smoothly for you at your new job.

Best wishes, and you can still check in to let us know how you're doing.

As for your ex-Mo friend at the last job before the next one, I so relate to that. I still feel that way about just about everything. Compare movies to the "what can see" of my youth (is it R rated or not? - though I give myself permission to make exceptions because well, I'm not the same little kid I once was, but still ....)

Or the dress, as a woman I still have those modesty standards on what to wear and how much skin to show. Is that the Mormon in me, or just me being a grown woman making judgment calls on what I now consider appropriate and modest 'for me?' Honestly, I believe it's a combination of both.

Are we ever free from the shackles of that childhood? Yes, and no. Sift the good from the bad, and hopefully the better memories replace the bitter, in time.

Strangely addicted to those Nephew posts...

(I read RFM while I'm "listening" to clients whine.)

I will. Thanks everyone. This is the tech challenge I've always been dreading. I've hit the ceiling on skills and the leveling up is quite the effort at this point.

Elder Berry! I will miss you. I love your posts. Please find a way!

But meanwhile, enjoy your new job. Good luck with the learning. Your "middle-aged" brain might surprise you.

We will definitely keep the light on for you and hope you get a chance to return and report soon. Because it's hard to let people go...(but not in the same way it is for LDS Inc.)

Elder Berry:

That is too bad. I am one of those newbies. I found the Forum after being off grid for years and hiding out from some of my relatives who were trying to locate me so they could beat the shit out of me because of the great embarrassment they felt from the stuff I did at the end. We are descended from Great, Great, Great+ Grandparents who were converts in Ohio in 1833. Apparently, they couldn't handle a black sheep.

I so appreciate your entries. Is there anyway you can post on your days off?

I'm going to eat into family time to study. I don't know if I can do it but I'm going to try.

I'm sure you'll learn and thrive in the new job, despite being "middle-aged." Your sharp mind and wit will serve you well.
In the meantime, you'll be sorely missed.
Fire up the computer at home on a weekend once in a while, and drop us a note letting us know how you're doing, ok my friend?

Best!

Best wishes on the new endeavor and see you when I see you!
