Of the beers I've drunk so far, Iron Horse Brewery's Irish Death would have to be my favorite (a dark beer I'd recommend to people who don't like dark beer).

But I must say that I just went to Total Wine last night and came home with, in addition to Shiner, Landshark Lager and some Dos Equis Amber. And enough wine to necessitate giving the cashier over $200. I've officially spent more on alcohol this month than groceries.

Used to ride motorcycles through the Texas Hill Country in the late 70's early 80's. We bought Shiner Boch for .99 cents a 6 pack. Still reasonably priced for a great beer.

"What else would a Fort Collins person drink? "

Anything from Bristol Brewing Company in Co. Springs. A REAL hometown brewery.

Nah, haven't tried that. However, second to Fat Tire, would be Dam Straight from the Dam Brewery in Dillon CO. applesauce

Oh man- if you like Fat Tire, you've got to try Bristol's Mass Transit & also their Laughing Lab. Should be on tap in Ft. Collins. You'll thank me.

I have many that I love...but to pick just one is quite a challenge. I drank some Spessart & Specht dark in Bavaria that rates right up there and Mana Wheat from Maui Brewing is an excellent white ale. We have more and more craft and micro breweries starting up in Alberta all the time and it's all good.

The answer, it depends on circumstances.

If Sweetwater 420 (local IPA from Atlanta) is on tap and I am going to have a meaty meal, it goes well with the food.

After working in the yard and it is hot, a cold Coors is fine - something low calorie.

The recent addition of brew houses have made beer tastings fun. I have several friends where we get together 2x a month or so to try different beers. I probably will stop by a brew house after a minor surgery on my leg this afternoon for purely medical reasons. Even here in the Bible belt, new beer pubs with growler fills and half-pint samplers are now just a few blocks from the Church of God headquarters. I don't drink much, but it feels like a refuge from the religious fundamentalism in the area just to sit and sip a beer or two.

Rolling Rock. It's always way down under a dollar a bottle!! I don't like to rent beer for more than a dollar a bottle.

If you want easy drinking, mild flavor, then Bud, Coors, PBR, Miller work on a hot summer day.

If you want flavor, see below:

Corona (for hot summer days...go ahead and add the lime)
Anchor Steam (San Fran)
Baptist Stout from Epic Brewery (SLC)
Cutthroat Pale Ale (SLC)
For those Who have Costcos that sell beer and wine, get their Kirkland sampler case, 4 different types of beers.

Yes... Ancor Steam, or Serria Nevada mmmm.

On a hot yard work day anything light with little alcohol in it... 3.2 is fine.

Right now my favorite is anything that is apple such as Red's Apple ale, green apple ale, strawberry ale, blueberry ale, all made by Red's. I also really like the Angry Orchid apple ale or anything with angry in it's name.

Nevada is a short 30 minutes away and most of my beer comes from a popular discount store there and has the higher alcohol content.

I do have a question; I picked up a jug of Mississippi Mud. It's a Porter & Pilsner beer. The bottle is like a brown jug and I haven't the heart to open it and drink it. Have any of you tried this one?

There are sooo many micro breweries springing up here in Ontario

I was liking Dead Elephant beer from St Thomas Ontario

St Thomas was the railway shortcut from Chicago to New York. Jumbo the elephant was tragically killed there in the late 1800's

And now you know the rest of the story, lol

West Coast style IPA's. But I also enjoy lagers, stouts, and saisons, etc. I do like sours occasionally too...

I am very lucky to live in an area with no shortage of craft beer in lots of different styles.

To quote Bubba J. by way of Jeff Dunham:

"An Open One."

But seriously, folks, I'm partial to Heineken's and/or Stella Artois.

We just got back from a tour of the Czech republic and the former East Germany; and a couple of the Czech beers were pretty good too, but I don't recall the names.

Cheers....

And have tried over 3,000 different, distinct kinds of beer. The best I have ever had is a Belgian, named Gouden Carolus Cuvee van der Keizer. Simply amazing.

I did a beer study once. Got paid for it too. Henry Winehart wanted to know if we liked - or even took notice of - theirs, PBR, or micro-brews.

They wanted to know what we thought of their image, taste & styling.

Got about $80 for two hours. Tiny buzz.

You mean like Polygamy Porter - "you can't/ why have just one", or something like that, is their tagline. I didn't like it much.

Paulander Heferwirzen with a slice of orange, but only on-tap. From the bottle it doesn't taste as good.

For domestics, Blue Moon White Belgium Ale.
