[please read to the end before commenting :)]

On three occasions in my life I have had instances involving
priesthood blessings.

1) I had noticed a sensitive lump on the bottom of my chin. I
went to the Dr. who said it was an infected hair follicle and
prescribed antibiotics. The Dr. said if the antibiotics didn't
work it would have to be dealt with surgically. When I got
home my Home Teachers were waiting there. I told them of my
situation and got a priesthood blessing. Later that evening I
went to CVS to get the prescription filled. Unfortunately the
pharmacy closed earlier than the store did. So I waited until
the next day. The next day I forgot all about the prescription
until it was too late again. On the day after that I noticed
that the lump was MUCH smaller and not tender at all. I didn't
get the antibiotics. Two days later it was completely gone.

2) I had an ingrown toenail on my big toe. It was seriously
painful and I walked with a pronounced limp. The Dr. said that
I could try soaking to see if it would soften things up enough
to readjust it, and if that didn't help I'd have to have a
podiatrist fix it surgically. The soaking didn't help. Again I
had my home teachers give me a priesthood blessing. Two weeks
later, amazingly the toenail actually grew through this skin of
my toe leaving a flap of dead skin that fell off by itself.
It's been perfectly fine since then. No Dr. had to be further
involved.

3) I had an eye exam by a highly-respected opthamologist. He
told me I had glaucoma in my left eye and prescribed some drops
for it, and recommended a glaucoma specialist closer to where I
lived. I got the drops but had trouble putting them in and
therefore was VERY lax in using them--VERY. I told my HT's
when they visited and they asked if they could give me another
priesthood blessing. I said, OK, and they did. I went to the
glaucoma specialist and had a battery of tests. The result was
that there was no indication of glaucoma at all. It was
completely gone!

4) OK, this one isn't an experience, it's just to explain that
the three above stories are completely true and accurate EXCEPT
that no HT's or priesthood blessings were involved at all. I
completely made up that part of each story. All three
"miraculous" cures just happened with no attempt to enlist any
supernatural help at all. But what if I were a TBM and had
asked for a priesthood blessing in each of those situations?
Then I would have undoubtedly credited the blessing with the
happy outcome. I would have been one of those who could tell
my story on a regular basis in F&T meeting. So next time
someone tells me, "I know prayer works, I've had too many
experiences," I'll regale them with my three experiences with
"no priesthood blessing." I'll point out that the only
difference between them and me is that they have blamed voodoo,
where I didn't have that opportunity.

Baura, I could re-write every one of those, throw in an appropriate quote or two from Mary Baker Eddy, and get them published in the Christian Science Sentinel.

(Don't expect any royalties, though! :-] )

I have NEVER in my 80 years on earth witnessed anybody being healed from anything that they would not otherwise have recovered from by the application of a "priesthood blessing"

Has anyone experienced having an amputated limb grow back after a "priesthood" blessing?

Mary Baker Eddy holds that material existence, including such misfortunes as a lost limb, exists only in mind. When you truly, deeply, spiritually understand this, you can literally overcome material limitation, be it a cold, an overdrawn checking account, gravity--or a lost limb. She wrote,

"The less mind there is manifested in matter the better. When the unthinking lobster loses its claw, the claw grows again. If the Science of Life were understood, it would be found that the senses of Mind are never lost and that matter has no sensation. Then the human limb would be replaced as readily as the lobster’s claw, — not with an artificial limb, but with the genuine
Science and Health, p. 489:1-7).

You belonged to the wrong cult, Happy2BeMe!

Elder Holland came to visit my mission. One of the sister missionaries brought and elderly blind lady up to him and said she had great faith to be healed if Elder Holland would give her a priesthood blessing. Elder Holland thanked her for her great faith and then brushed her off without giving the blessing.

My mission president was furious with the sister for putting Elder Holland in that awkward situation.

Blessings also work when nothing happens. Didn't work? Must be God's will. That'll be 10%, please.

I had a bad cold and thanks to the priesthood it was gone in a week.

During the first part of his mission, Elder Boner was asked to give a priesthood blessing to an investigator's dog that had cancer. The dog was cured. The woman never joined the church. EB was transferred. Anyone want to wager about the current condition of the dog?

I should add that EB was a very young, happy, beautiful, innocent young man when he left. I'm glad his mission president never knew about the blessing.

I have stood in the circle twice. My parents were on their death beds. The prayers were not my idea. Mom died and four years later dad did too. I have never received a blessing. Were one offered I would refuse it.

I gave hundreds of priesthood blessings as a Bishop, EQP, missionary, and father. I actually received hardly no blessings from others. I always had issues with blessings. I cannot comment on the outcomes as much as the inspiration I felt. I didn't feel inspiration--I just went through the words and the proper things you would say in a Mormon blessing. But, most of the time (or all of the time), I did not feel inspired (I always wondered).

I have also heard from some others the weirdest things said in blessings. And, I mean weird, crazy and wrong.

My last blessing 2013 was near my death bed by ex-M husband (woman hater misogynist) and my sons. I did the blessing for this one son, who cried. He thought I was coming back into the church. After the blessing, I had the terrifying dream of horrors. I was surrounded by demon entities hissing and glad I was sick. I had hundreds of curses placed on my body to destroy me. This blessing was not a blessing. I told my trauma counselor about the dream and she told me to never be in the same room with the ex ever again. I'm proud to say, the ex is NOT in my life. My kids are still involved in the church, it was hard for them. I didn't go the Thanksgiving dinner 2016 and the ex left early, he was tired. He didn't have me to beat up. BAM! HA HA HA Zoe

What I noticed in so many blessings, and this includes being set apart for callings and other blessings, was how much the PH had not clue about me. The blessings assumed that my children was my whole point in living, and nothing that I did was mentioned except for being a mother. Does this make sense? I had concerns and questions about lots of things that had nothing to do with home and hearth, but the "inspired" PH never had a clue. I particularly hated to get blessings from my husband because he used it as a time to lecture me about things that we disagreed about, and to try to make me think that his choice was also the Lord's choice.

If PB's worked there would be no reason for Iron Man or Dr. Strange.
