I'm not sure what the geographic breakdown for baptisms is, but it seems like a lot of the "growth" comes from the developing world where internet access isn't a given.
I'm sure that 75% of that 240K was from upper middle-class families where the whole family was baptized. The father probably has a management position in a successful corporation and pulls down a salary of well above six figures.
That's who's joining the Church, because, hey, it's GOD'S ONLY TRUE CHURCH! Why wouldn't these smart people be joining?
Those of you who recently returned from missions, these are the type of converts you had, Right? Complete, well-to-do, highly educated families?
No mention of whether they made more than two meetings...or how they figure in those two guinea hens and a goat for tithing while the kiddies go hungry for a bit..so much for the 80000 surge...looks like someone didnt hear gawd right...I SAID DONT SEND THE 18 YEAR OLDS...dam irock needed an update i guess or a new woofer...ill see your goat and raise you a guinea hen...not one of the faithful even noticed the down trend
I'd guess a lot of those "converts" were people born in the church but never baptized and were finally harassed into it. Or they were nevermos who married Mormons.
We all know their numbers are completely bogus, but even they can't cover up the fact that their convert numbers continue to dwindle with each year that goes by.
