From 257K in 2015 to 240K in 2016. Right?

2015--Converts Baptized: 257,402

https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2016/04/statistical-report-2015?lang=eng

And the report given today, if I remember correctly, did indicate converts for 2016 were at 240k.

So yes, it looks like converts are down.

I'm surprised they were able to find 240K suckers... my guess the converts don't have internet access.

I'm not sure what the geographic breakdown for baptisms is, but it seems like a lot of the "growth" comes from the developing world where internet access isn't a given.

Yep, if it were not for places such as Ivory Coast, Ghana and Nigeria, the numbers would even be far more pathetic than they are.

80,000 missionaries?

Awesome productivity. 60+ hours per week for 52 weeks. More than 3000 hours per year, or more than 1000 hours of missionizing per convert.

I'm sure that 75% of that 240K was from upper middle-class
families where the whole family was baptized. The father
probably has a management position in a successful corporation
and pulls down a salary of well above six figures.

That's who's joining the Church, because, hey, it's GOD'S ONLY
TRUE CHURCH! Why wouldn't these smart people be joining?

Those of you who recently returned from missions, these are the
type of converts you had, Right? Complete, well-to-do, highly
educated families?

I'd guess a lot of those "converts" were people born in the church but never baptized and were finally harassed into it. Or they were nevermos who married Mormons.

Do they count the 8 year olds in Utah in all-Mormon families? Or do they count those separately?

This year they claimed 16 million Mormons.

We all know their numbers are completely bogus, but even they can't cover up the fact that their convert numbers continue to dwindle with each year that goes by.
