In the contemporary US, sadly, that is true. That doesn't make it right. A polite prejudice is still a prejudice. It is time we, as in humanity, moved on from such racist bullcrap.

The white (more semi-white recently as you point out) is simply due to the historical circumstance of the church's origins and development.

The old is a circumstance of living long and being part of a corporate bureaucracy that prioritizes / values seniority, networking (butt-kissery) and being part of the in-group over talent or competence.

The misogyny (such as it is) is rooted in the theology among other things.

I am astounded that people can know about TSCC hierarchy and not notice it.

I will also point out that grouping all "white males" together is unfair there are plenty of white males that are not old or misogynistic.

Personally I don't care what they do with their religion.

As long as they don't bother me, I won't worry about them.

The last picture I looked at for the 70 had two black gentlemen, 4 hispanic and 4 asian men as well as 1 native American.

I don't have a problem with white males. If you do, you are, by definition, a racist, a misandrist, or both.

I have a HUGE problem with the cult though. And it is one that is/was racist, misogynist, manipulative, murderous, treasonous, and downright vile. Here's hoping it goes away sooner rather than later.

All this made me never like old white men. When choosing a doctor in Utah I always have stayed away from the old white men. It's ingrained in me to not trust them

The Mormon Gerontocracy only stay in power because everyone allows it and supports it. Your anger should be toward all the people of different colors and both genders who support them and keep them in power. Be mad at all the people who choose not to think for themselves and are happy to induct their children into the cult. Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance is ignorance.

The Gerontocracy like the way things are so they sure as heck ain't going to fix what they perceive as a "not broken" system.

Old white males do not deserve bigotry aimed at them any more than anyone else. At some point we have to stop spinning the wheel to see who we should hate next.

Thoughts to ponder. They're as much victims or circumstance as the rest of us. Maybe more so with huge doctrinal and PR problems looming.

If the leaders all hate women, why do so many women like the church?

Or could it be there are many benefits to women, like the leaders helping them control their man. Shaming him into getting married, being the sole bread winner, never looking at other women, not looking at porn, not masturbating, etc. Gives her monopoly control over him.

So the leaders actually help out the ladies. Which is why so many are pissed when their guy quits church. If he is no longer subject to the leaders, they've lost control over him. They would have to be more pleasant to get him to do things.

But we're not going to mention these little things, are we. Feminists cherry-pick the facts, just like TBMs. In order to keep the faith, only allow the info that supports the notion that women are victims and men the oppressors.

Victimhood is a booming industry. The bigger the victim, the more benefits you get.

In a lot of societies women, particularly middle-aged and older women, are a conservative and sometimes reactionary force. There are a variety of reasons for this. One is that they are disproportionately dependent on men--for income, status, etc--and can't contemplate major social changes without fearing for their own futures. A third reason in this cluster is that women have sacrificed so much. This works for the LDS church for both genders: the church makes you sacrifice, then it becomes ever more difficult to walk away even if you know intellectually the church is false. The emotional pull, the unwillingness to admit that you've devoted years and untold money to a lie is terrifying. In traditional societies, this dynamic is more powerful among women than men because it is they, more than those men, who have sacrificed education, career, romantic freedom, etc.

So responsibility for family and children, dependence on men, and the 'sunk costs' of having given up so much for the old values: these are the reason that in Islamic countries, for instance, older women are often bastions of conservatism. The same factors may well explain why women are more loyal to the LDS church than men are.

It is basic sociology. It is the sociology of emotional slavery.

Excellent response. To add to it, it's very difficult, if not impossible, to recognize misogyny when you've known nothing different your whole life. I couldn't identify it until I'd taken a few Women's Studies classes in college. And even then, I'd have told you that I didn't grow up with misogyny. Once I was out on my own, making my way in the world, I started seeing it everywhere, including (in retrospect) my own childhood/young adulthood.

We call that "internalized misogyny," when women perpetuate sexism against other women. Slut shaming is a great example, or judging SAHMs, that's also internalized misogyny.

Having control over my partner is not a partnership. That's just misogyny, using sex as currency in the relationship because it's the only thing the woman has control over in her life.

And I have to say this, although I know Free Man is a locked vault and reason will never get through to him. Feminism is about being in control of one's own choices. That means feminists want MEN to be in control of their own choices as well. It's anti-feminist (or misogynist) to try or want to control other people up to and including one's partner.
