But they are so brainwashed to believe it, I remember my bishop telling me "don't leave the church, if you do you won't have your endowment, it's a great experience, the endowment will make you a better person". I was furious with the idea that a ceremony can make me a better person, but I didn't react to that, I was polite all the time during the interview, and then I decided to leave the church. Now that I know what the endowment and the real history of the church are, I know that I made the right choice :)

Well, gee, he was right. The wacky, ridiculous "endowment" was one of the things that got me to leave the mormon cult. Making me a better person.
It didn't make me a better person for sure. It just made me a person with a two year recommend and weird underwear.
After the "ceremony" I was thinking, "That's it?! I went through those classes, interviews, and wearing myself emotionally and mentally to feel like I'm 'worthy enough' to enter this place, and THIS is it?!" I'll admit, I kept coming back...just to go to the Celestial Room. Oddly enough, it was the only place I felt peace, at the time.

To understand the mysteries of this world and all eternity you have at least to wear some special clothing or be circumcised, chant, pray, sing, fast, love or hate your fellow man, have special rituals or no rituals, make sacrifices, meditate, go through training routines, memorise stuff, and of course hand over your money. All sorted.
Not quite. My edit. Almost there on the requirements - you also may need to have sex with holy men especially if you are female.
