Superstition: a belief that is not based on reason or scientific thinking and that explains the causes for events in ways that are connected to magic. - Cambridge Dictionary

Sound familiar?

Ouch! "Mythology" is probably a better description of my love life...

A clever religionist would agree with you entirely, with the exception of HIS religion. He would stand shoulder to shoulder with you, condemning all religions as blatant hogwash, except his own.

Elderolddog At least you have a word that defines your love life, I haven't fallen in love for 6 years,so I don't know a word that could define my love life.
I guess I have to create it again.
I think I should call Jehovah and Michael.

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

But they never think that through. They're too busy trying to decide whether they're going to hit you with the 'watchmaker' model or the perfection of the human eye. Or the worst, "how can you not watch a sunset and not see the hand of the creator!"

I got nothing against believing in a ghawd, I just don't want to be preached to about that ghawd.

"Superstition"
by Stevie Wonder

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0CFuCYNx-1g

Lyrics

"Very superstitious, writings on the wall
Very superstitious, ladders bout' to fall
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass
Seven years of bad luck, the good things in your past
When you believe in things that you don't understand
Then you suffer
Superstition ain't the way

"Very superstitious, wash your face and hands
Rid me of the problems, do all that you can
Keep me in a daydream, keep me goin' strong
You don't want to save me, sad is my song
When you believe in things you don't understand
Then you suffer
Superstition ain't the way, yeh, yeh

"Very superstitious, nothin' more to say
Very superstitious, the devil's on his way
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass
Seven years of bad luck, good things in your past
When you believe in things that you don't understand
Then you suffer
Superstition ain't the way"
