Anyone in the Salt Lake City area have any recommendations or suggestions on how to transfer VHS content to DVD or memory card? I have about 30 minutes of old family pictures that I want to save for future generations to throw away, instead of me.

About 20 years ago, I transferred the VHS content to other VHS tapes and gave them to my family. I had 2 VHS machines and it seemed pretty simple. There are places online to do it but I'd rather not pay to send it away etc.

Now, I want to put the same content on DVD or SD cards. I don't even own a TV right now since my old one died and for the most part I can watch anything I want on my 23" desktop.

There are many others,take your pick.

Any one of these should allow you to transfer your VHS material to your computer as a digital file. From there you can burn a DVD, or transfer to a memory card or external hard drive.

There is a guy here in pocatello that does it. He works at a place called budget but not sure if you would want to ship it over. I got the phone number if you want it, his name is steve and he knows his stuff. Probably could do it for a decent price since his store is all about buying things for cheap. I go there to sell dvds but i have seen him do the vhs to dvd transfer for other people.
