Do you learn which tribe your from in a Patriarchal blessing? Is it common that mormons ask what tribe you're from? Why do they care? Just overheard the oddest conversation...

Everybody's Ephraim except for Hispanics and Native Americans who are usually from the tribe of Manasseh. That's a Book of Mormon thing.

It's all at the whim of the individual patriarch.

Like drawing names out of a hat. All of them the same except for one or two.

The people who ask you are mostly doing so because they want you to return the favor so that they can brag.

Us poor people from the tribe of Manasseh don't get to live in gated communities. We try to pretend we don't care, but......

I don't have a gate, but you can live in my community anytime...:)
In fact, I'd much prefer you to any white-and-delightsome mormons!

Someone should set up a website where these PB's are gathered and run some comparisons among all of them just to show how generic they are and thus a load of hooie.

I believe the Hekawi tribe is related to the Helawi tribe and the
Fugawai tribe.

Remember when it was taught by J.S that the 'lost' ten tribes of Israel lived on the moon, and dressed like pilgrims (with tall black hats, and wide white collars)? (If I remember correctly.)

Very few people have ever heard of the one and only African-American Indian tribe.

They call themselves the Slapaho.

I was from Ephraim--what a surprise!

One of my religion professors at BYU was obsessed by the tribes of Israel. He got into dramatic explanations of how they had spread to every corner of the earth. Therefore, the gathering of the 12 tribes essentially included everyone.

Like many Mormon things, it felt like an effort to use a sledge hammer to get a square peg to fit into a round hole.

I never got a PB, but then I've never been mormon.

However I am a member of the Fugawi tribe.

Thank you Johnny Carson.
