I have never heard of any other society on this planet aside from Mormonism that decides that everyone will be married -- either on Earth or in the hereafter.

If you are a good mormon, but not married you are an angel. Yes, you don't make the highest degree of the CK, but you don't actually have to get married.
Emanuel Swedenborg taught eternal marriage in his 18th century religious philosophy. Joseph Smith ripped the idea from him. There is a Swedenborg church, but it's membership is very small. Most people haven't heard of him.
Evidently, the belief is so ingrained that they won't even let a divorced couple get a temple divorce..."everything will be worked out in the eternities" (as my bishop explained it to me after I divorced my newly out gay husband)
Long ago, I remember being asked by a Temple Square missionary, "Don't you want to be married to your husband for eternity?" And I remember thinking to myself, I'm not sure that I want to be married at all.
