God wanted his church restored in a bizarre, unbelievable way so that the importance of faith would be paramount. Had Joseph not been a whacko, self-serving, money grubbing, letch, and his actions had actually been above board and holy, then there would have not been a need for faith---or, gullibility, as some people call it.

Sorry. That is too good. Can't destroy it.

Like my mother always says after finding out the truth about Smith, "We don' know why Heavenly Father chose Joseph, we just know that he did." So there!
